Lovely art filled cafe with a wonderfully local and fresh menu. Counter order then table served we enjoyed a leisurely lunch for an hour and half. I had the large soup and salad with a red lentils soup that was vegan and gluten free. It tasted fabulous with clear direction for the flavor from the cook. Super tasty and the salad had a balsamic rosemary infusion which lit up the beets, greens and marinated radishes. I also have lavender earl gray cold tea that again was a delight. My friends had the special of fresh sh tacos and a side salad for one and fries for the other. That special came with a beer for 2$. We will be returning,

The restaurant is nice and cozy. They do have a decent variety of gluten-free options. The fish and chips/ GF is breaded perfectly, has a great crunch, filled with lots cod. I believe. The fries are hand cut, I would like mine more with crunch then being so limp. Seasoned well. The Brandywine Burger was large w/ GF bun , lettuce was soggy, but overall a tasty flavorful burger. Staff was very friendly. The place very clean and I like the vibe.

A great spot for gluten free in Bellingham! I’ve always wanted to try fish and chips but they’re never gluten free. These are naturally gluten free and were DELICIOUS! Crispy and very tasty and even reheated well. (I dug into them so fast I didn’t get photos until after) The soup was also very yummy. There’s a laid back atmosphere and the team was super friendly and helpful.

We stopped here for lunch on our way back to California from Canada. I saw online that a large portion of the menu was available gluten-free and wanted to try it.
We walked in at 12:09 (it opens at noon) and there were already four tables seated and two groups in line at the counter ahead of us. I took that as a good sign!
The restaurant itself was very cute – open, spacious and inviting with lots of art on the walls. We ordered and sat at a table in the front by the window. About ten minutes later my husband went to wash his hands, and when he came back he said it was weird, no one was in the kitchen cooking but our food hadn’t come out yet. Finally after waiting 30 minutes, he went up to the counter to ask. The family that ordered just ahead of us hasn’t gotten their food either. I guess the kitchen printer broke and the kitchen never got our orders.
They apologized and offered to either return our money or make our food quickly. The family had two young kids and got their money back (they looked so disappointed). We waited for our food and I’m so glad we did. It was DELICIOUS. The portions were large and everything tasted fresh. I had the cauliflower tacos with a side salad and my husband had chimichurri steak tacos with fries. He always asks for his fries extra crispy and they almost never come out that way but Brandywine got it exactly right.
The person who took our order was very apologetic, brought us complimentary dipping sauces for the fries and offered us a free dessert if we wanted one. He agreed that the mistake shouldn’t have happened (which it shouldn’t – someone should have noticed the two tables sitting there with no food and no tickets in the kitchen).
Unfortunately their desserts are prepackaged and none were gluten-free, which seemed odd to me when their website proudly claims their focus on GF food. (Not that we needed the sugar.)
I would definitely recommend the food and it’s such a great space. Just check in if your food isn’t out quickly!

Brandywine Kitchen in Bellingham is a very nice quaint place to grab a bite to eat. I went on a Friday early afternoon and I was immediately excited about the quiet atmosphere so I could unwind after my hour drive to Bellingham. The only other patrons were two small families that didn’t talk loudly. A handwritten sign instructs you to go to the counter at the back of the longish restaurant to order. Ring a small bell there if nobody is at the counter as the people working the kitchen also work every other part of the place. The menu is written on a big overhead board at the counter area. The menu is diverse between vegetarian and non vegetarian selections. I had a Philly Cheesesteak that was quite tasty and came with properly cooked fries which I doused with hot sauce to make them spicy. My wife ordered the Fish and Chips remarking favorably on the freshness of the fish and the quality of the breading and cook. We only drank water, but they do have a small bar with some fresh beers on tap. Table service was good. All the employees were helpful and answered all our questions. The guy we dealt with was extremely nice. There is a small outdoor seating area out front. Overall, I truly enjoyed the food and the atmosphere.

The food was very delicious and comforting! Good fried cauliflower, house made fries, kickass pork sliders. The vibe of the inside was less cozy than I thought it would be from the street. Prices reasonable. I must say they should use more resilient buns, the meals were so juicy that they turned to mush.

The gal at the counter was very nice. It however took over an hour for us to get a salad, kids burger, and two chicken strips and fries. They brought my sister her salad as she was having a blood sugar issue. Which was very nice. We got our food almost 10 minutes after she got her salad. They did refund my son and I’s meal as my burger patty was hard and chewy and we waited so long. For that I changed it from a one star to a three

This place was so disappointing. I went here with my buddies bc they’re gluten free. I ordered a salad with chicken. It was one of the most disgusting salads I’ve had. The lettuce was brown at times and while the presentation of the meal looked somewhat pleasing, It was extremely inconvenient.
The greens were not chopped, so they were extremely large and hard to eat. The chicken Was cut in a long way (think of Chicken fingers) which was hard to eat on a salad, The sliced egg was cold, the dressing was overly watery, and most of all the bowl was too small. I had to take almost everything out of the bowl and leave only the greens to add the dressing and even then greens were slipping outside my bowl. The costumer service is obviously awful but that’s just a Belligham thing. So u know how that goes.

Brandywine Kitchen nails it—local, fresh, and full of soul. The sandwiches? Phenomenal. The fries? Crispy golden miracles. The house sauces? Next level. You can taste the care in every bite.
Whether you’re grabbing a hearty lunch or settling in for a casual dinner, this spot delivers comfort food with craft-level execution. Bonus points for the warm, welcoming vibe and a menu that honors seasonal ingredients without being pretentious.
This place makes Bellingham proud. Go hungry, leave smiling.

I eat here almost every time that I go into Bellingham. I love the food!! It’s fresh and delicious! The building is old brick with many layers when you start looking at it closely. I’m sure it holds lots of history!
