My wife and I decided to take a drive and stopped by here for a late luch from an hours drive away. We were seated quickly and soon after placed our order. Ask the nice young waiter a few questions about the menu to which she didn’t know the answer to and would have to ask another staff member and said she doesn’t eat the food here. My wife ordered the ribeye steak rare, and sweat potato and a blue moon to drink. I ask how much it was to add shrimp to steak dinner and she stated they were $2 each. I ordered the flat iron steak medium and added 6 shrimp with loaded mash potatoes and a Pepsi. We also got an artichoke dip and chips appetizer. Drink came out quickly and side salads soon after. It took a few minutes for the appetizer to come out. It was the tail end of lunch rush. We then waited awhile for our food to come out. We noticed that 2 different groups that came in after us received their food before us. A few tables food all came out at once and ours was last of the group. My wife’s food came out correctly but my steak was very well done. I did not say anything as we already waited so long to get the food and didn’t want to wait for another to be made. My wife asked or a water after mostly finishing her blue moon. This is important later. We finished our food and received the bill. They charged us $3 per shrimp and also charged $1.50 for water. This was the first ever restaurant I have been to that charged for a small glass of water. Even though we paid $6 for a small glass of blue moon. The waiter was very on top of service but could use some better knowledge of the food on the menu and accurate price for things. The kitchen totally missed the mark on my steak and could be better. Over all we spent $130 for late lunch with tip for a semi ok meal.

As someone who has been in the restaurant industry for a large portion of my life, I am usually disappointed in steaks from most restaurants and prefer to cook my own. My daughter and I were traveling and stopped in. We got the ribeye steaks and we both agree: Best steak I have ever gotten from any restaurant. Perfect cook, it was absolutely delicious! For once I was extremely happy with a steak from a restaurant.

Picked out Branding Iron Steakhouse at random, traveling through Belle Fourche. What a great dinner experience. The food was good (and reasonably priced), but the atmosphere & SERVICE is what really set this place apart. Our server (SARA) was attentive from the minute we walked in. She was right there to take drink & food orders, checked back for any issues, drink refills, everything, often, without us ever feeling like we were waiting for anything, but also without hovering over us. In an era where every restaurant server seems to feel entitled to a massive gratuity, regardless of how they do their job, Sara was quick, friendly, & very personable & truly is deserving of it. She made what would have been a good dinner a fantastic dinner. Thank you Sara!

We called the day before, bringing a group of 20 people from out of stay from a tour at Devil’s tower for the Black Hills Corvette Classic. They were SO ready for us! The manager or owner was outside and welcoming. The servers were excellent- making sure our drinks were refreshed and taking care to get our orders made quickly. The food was hot and delish and the atmosphere were on point! I highly recommend!!!! Also, excellent Bloody Mary’s that get you a free koozie!

Stopped here for an early supper. The grilled walleye was great. The cheeseburger was very good. Recommend the onion rings and steak fries too. Our waitress was great too. She answered all our questions and made sure we got anything we needed. She also had a great personality that made our time there enjoyable.

As a full time RV Nomad, I look forward to heading in to town(s) and taking care of my business while enjoying local eateries and businesses. I eyed Branding Iron a couple times driving past and I wish I drove past …
Listen, the place is well decorated for a bar and the cars in the parking lot tells me they have something to offer other than mediocre at best food.
I was excited to try the ‘Alaskan Amber Fried Cod’ and I eyed it perusing the menu before arrival! What I received in return for my ordering the Alaskan Amber was 3 or 4 fish sticks that would rival anything you would put in your toaster oven at home and a roll on a plate! My pasta salad came on the side along with the lackluster salad it was served with.
The server was pleasant and I find the people in and around this area very pleasant as well … But to walk out of this restaurant down $30+ after being served fish sticks with a fancy name makes me an unhappy customer that wished he spent his money elsewhere.
I wish I took a picture of my Gordon’s Fisherman’s platter!
If I ever go back there, which is doubtful because I don’t drink anymore and enjoy quality food, I will try a burger or a steak.
If you people can get away with serving fish sticks marketed as ‘Alaskan Amber’ … Good for you! For an amazing bottle of Budweiser and some fish sticks … Go to Branding Iron!

Kelsey is a great server. She made us feel very welcome and at home. Very cute, cool atmosphere. Food is great and came quickly, hardly any wait. We had RibEye and Walleye. Both cooked perfectly. The bread sticks was even very tasty. Prices are very comparable to the great quality of food we received. I highly recommend.
