I am a local. I travel a lot (4 to 5 days a week)and eat in restaurants all over the Southeast. I Don’t normal write review unless it is to share good news.

We looked at this restaurant last year. . . Decided to have lunch the next time we were in town. . . From the outside a lot of charm, on the inside it looked fun, with multiple seating choices. . . Perfect weather for outside dinning, but we chose inside. . . Nice comfortable booth, our waitress was great, explained the 1/2 price Monday wine special. They were out of what we asked for, but our second choice was fine. . . My wife’s spaghetti was cooked perfectly, the meat balls had a good flavor. . . They were a little skimpy on the sauce, and the flavor was nothing special. . . My angel hair pasta was also cooked perfectly. The meat sauce tasted different, like they had added to some Alfredo to it ? When we received our check they had neglected to give us the half price on my wife’s glass of wine. . . Which they corrected, as soon as I pointed it out. . . But on the way out the door, is when I saw the Health Code Rating of 90.5 A. . . Need I say more. . . Sorry we won’t be back. . .

While it takes awhile for the food to be prepared and the prices are on the high side (this IS a top quality Italian restaurant after all), their food is and service are both very good. This place has the best pizza I have ever had, and I’ve had NYC pizza and original Italian made pizza too. The bartender is friendly and the owner sometimes goes around and asks people if they’re having a good experience. I do recommend this place IF you have the wallet for it. The only reason I don’t rate this place a 5 is because of their prices. I would eat here WAY more often if they’d lower them a bit.

This used to be one of my favorite restaurants not only in the area, but in the world. I was very excited to have an opportunity to go for the first time in years recently, but was so disappointed. The food and service both have gone downhill since my last visit. Less than 5 parties were seated when I arrived, but service was still incredibly slow. I got the excuse that there was a large party on the patio, and having worked in restaurants my whole life until last year, I can understand that sometimes throws a wrench in things, but it didn’t look to be more than 10-15 people. I waited around 10 minutes before I was greeted by my server or offered any water, and service remained slow the rest of the night. We might have ordered more wine had this not been the case. Wait staff seemed immature and under-trained for offering anything close to a fine-dining experience. We split a pizza and an antipasto plate, and the pizza was not the sort of delicate, delicious thing I remember being served before. Everything just seemed dumbed down from what Branciforte’s was when it opened, and I have to wonder if the local populace has had an influence on that when I see reviews stating things like “Well Olive Garden is cheaper and you get more food!” Maybe it’s just been a tough crowd to cater high-class, high-quality food to, but I was very sad to see it going the way it’s going. I will still give it another chance and hope for the best if I’m in the area, but this won’t be a place I rave about and take people from far away to anymore.

The best pizza I have ever eaten. Best cut of steak I have ever eaten. I was thrilled to find such a gem of a restaurant in a place like Wilkes County. Great staff, usually pretty empty when I go there but I assume its because the meals are a little higher than most are used to paying for in this area. The prices are fair for what you get.

This is my first time writing a review on a restaurant, but our visit to Branciforte’s was so disappointing, I feel I need to. My husband and I had been looking forward to trying it, we were there at 6:00 on this evening, and it’s Thursday. There were about 3 small groups inside the restaurant and 2 outside. I saw 2 wait staff and possibly manager. We got service right away for drinks, and bread basket was timely delivered, but by 7:00 we had no meal. When my husband went to pay our bill, no one seemed concerned that we had sat there for an hour and not gotten our dinner.
