This was our first time trying out Branchwater, doing a “taste test” to see if we wanted to hold a celebration event at this location. The hostess who seated us was remarkably indifferent and didn’t say a word to us other than “only 2 of you?” We waited quite a while before the waiter came. I ordered the blue cheese crusted skirt steak entree. The steak was one of the worst cuts of meat I’ve ever had at a restaurant–not quality at all. It’s sad when the sides–the truffle fries and broccoli–are the shining stars of the plate. My son got the grilled pork chop, exchanging the mashed sweet potatoes with the cheddar scalloped potatoes. They charged us extra for the switch to the scalloped potatoes, and then didn’t even give him the green beans that were supposed to come with the entree. The “cheddar” scalloped potatoes didn’t have an ounce of cheddar; instead it was coated with a blue cheese concoction that was simply gross. Inedible. On top of that they charged us for a sweet tea refill and a $4 surcharge to use a credit card; so an extra $10 in fees between those and the scalloped potatoes. Even though I was unimpressed by the food, I asked about the area used for events; I was pointed to the main dining area that would be “closed off by curtains” or the outdoor patio. Nope. All around not impressed. $100 for two entrees and sweet teas. Definitely not worth the price tag. Won’t be returning again.

We had a great time. We ordered all the appetizers and shared with other couples. Every bite was delicious… my husband LOVES the brussel sprouts. My #1 is the Tuna Poke. We ordered a combination of menu crafted cocktails , draft beers or just our favorite drinks and each one was perfect. Both owners Katy and Lee stopped by our table to check on us. We felt like welcomed regulars. Branchwater is our new favorite date night spot.

Food was phenomenal! Recently switched owners and definitely improving all aspects more & more each day. I have been twice in the past 2 months and have nothing but great things to say. Great food, great service, great atmosphere. The owners are giving it their all to make it a wonderful place to attend. I’m excited to make this restaurant a regular addition to my routine!

Went there on 12/23/25 around 6:15 and we had to wait for the hostess to come seat us. Someone from another dinner party waiting had to go find her.

When she did finally seat us, she sat us all the way in the back and wouldn’t let us choose a better table. She said all the other tables were reserved. There was one other table in the room with guests.

It took almost 20 minutes for our server to come to the table. After he arrived, the service was good. He was very attentive.

The portion size was very small like a lunch portion. For the prices, you expect a dinner sized portion.

I don’t think I’ll be back.

My husband and I have been coming here for years. The service is always warm and welcoming and the food is top notch. Specifically the grouper, lobster, and steak. The creme brulee for dessert is delicious! Honestly I don’t know why this place doesn’t have 5 stars. It’s always a 5 star experience when we have been.

This was our second time dining at Branchwater. We had a great experience our first time and decided to bring some friends this time. Unfortunately the service this time was terribly slow. It was 20 minutes before the waitress appeared to take our drink order. It took our entrees at least 50 minutes to come out after we ordered them. The table across from us sat with dirty dishes on it for 45 minutes before anyone bussed the table. Overall, our dinner with a party of five took 2 hours and 15 minutes. The restaurant was not even half full, so it wasn’t that they were overwhelmed with customers. After this experience, we won’t be back.

My blackened grouper with grits was good but my wife’s pork chop was wonderful. Oh, and I shouldn’t forget the creme brulee – amazing! The music was a little loud for such a quiet night but otherwise the ambiance was great. Our server was pleasant, didn’t rush us (we had some extra time), and took care of everything we needed.

Super short review:
AMAZING food, disappointing ambiance, mediocre service, definitely overpriced for what you get.

Full review:
This place is fantastic but there are a couple of areas where it can be improved. First of all the food is incredible and does not have much room for improvement so if all you care about is loving what you eat, then this is a five star place. Get the shrimp & grits or the braised beef plates (I’ve had both). You won’t be disappointed!

However, if the overall experience matters, then I would call it more of a 3.5 or so. I sat on the back porch area with my wife and honestly it felt like a whole different restaurant. The front porch has a nice view and wooden tables (maybe?) covered with tablecloths and flatware/linen rolls while the back has wire framed metal tables and no tablecloths or utensils and you kinda feel exiled. Like I said, it was like a whole different experience. The service wasn’t bad but it wasn’t “outstanding”. The selection was pretty small but that actually makes it easier to decide what to order, for some people. Parking lot was absolutely STUPIDLY crowded for a dinky town like this. The facility here is far too overpopulated. Bottom line = I recommend it but there are probably better things you could do with that money. Nice date place but there are lots of other, probably better, nice date places nearby.

Casual shopping center restaurant with high end flavors.
We arrived early for dinner on a Friday. The house salad was good with great dressing. Scallops and risotto were delicious. The scallops were fresh. Slightly over seasoned. But delicious nonetheless. The pork chop with seasoned lightly with great flavor and a nice sear. The mashed sweet potatoes were the star of the show. Just a hint of sweetness added and very creamy.
The only downside to the entire experience was that the staff were extremely loud. Lots of laughing and joking going on. It’s great that they were having fun but they were obnoxiously loud. We were near the front of the restaurant and they were louder than the blaring music.
