Gregory’s is just down the street and a bit cheaper — but Boxwood is definitely worth trying at least once.
parking: there’s street parking and a lot. both are paid by the parkmobile app. 30 min was less than $1
dietary preferences/allergies : inquire, staff will check for you.
Unfortunately, when we visited, the oven wasn’t working, so the pastries tasted a bit stale and unfresh. It was disappointing since I was looking forward to trying their baked goods.
I’ll definitely give the café another chance, though, as everything else was great. Hopefully, next time the oven will be working, and I can experience the true quality of their pastries!
I got the strawberry basil lemonade. The basil flavor is stronger than the strawberry, but delicious nevertheless. The shades coming down to the red adds to the aesthetic you get in the cafe itself. Light music plays in the background; perfect place to hang out and study. I came at around 6 pm, so there’s barely any people. Lovely little spot!
Over the last 4 days in and around Short Hills, Livingston, Chatham and Summit I’ve tried about 8 shops. This is actually the First shop I’ve visited in the area that does everything right
The girl at register understood and knew her coffees, David at barista was servicing the grinder on the fly and after fixing it actually dialed in and tasted his shots before serving
They pull proper shots, the Macchiato was on point, the cold brew delicious, fresh pastries and great atmosphere
Congrats to this ownership and team – great job – by far the best coffee in Summit, NJ and surrounding area. I will be sure to visit again tomorrow before heading to the airport and again when i return to the area
A recent revisit continues to confirm that. And I have also appreciated their matcha latte as well – bold, earthy but not too bitter. You could tell good quality matcha, or perhaps even ceremonial matcha, was used.
It was a delight to try a new Latte special which was the “nutcracker” and that during our visit, they had a good stock of donuts from Doughnut plant. They are so good! It has always been a pleasant visit every time we find ourselves here.
