Boxer’s has been open for 35 years; there’s a good reason. It’s a friendly place, welcoming to all. It’s a comfortable, historic building, with a stone backbar and tile mosaic floor. They serve great draft beer, always have. Great sandwiches, with some very good vegetarian options. And there’s fresh-baked pie, at a bar: how cool is that?

I got the reuben, peasant soup (tomato, potato, dill) and fries. The fries are a must! Reuben is as good as any. I love them all. The soup was great.
It’s a bit cramped inside (I didn’t mind but I know it’s helpful info).

Charming little place with an approachable neighborhood feel. The pub vibe speaks to me, and this place oozes it. Love the decor and the subtle statements made. It’s admirable to be so welcoming when so many people are hateful and ignorant as of late.
Enough about that, though, on to the experience!
Deeeelicious! Clever menu, well executed, and the food was quick to the table. The reuben was excellent, a classic done right; crispy bread and perfect corned beef with sauerkraut and melty swiss. As a side note……. what’s better than corned beef?

The cheesesteak was really tasty as well, crammed full of meat and cheese, but the roll was the standout, so good! Waffle fries to go with were a big win too, don’t skip these since they can double as a scoop to shovel Boxer’s yummy food into your mouth with ease.

Boxer’s has a good ambience, even during the day. Servers are friendly and the service is quick. But the food was probably a bit too heavy for me. I would’ve liked to enjoy my burger instead of dreading to finish the damn thing.
