Fun spot, great food, very messy (in a good way)
Stopped by Boxcar Grill in Talking Rock, GA shortly after they opened, so parking was easy and there were no crowds at the time. It’s a neat little place built inside a train boxcar — narrow but clean, organized, and well laid out.
There’s plenty of outdoor seating available, not just at Boxcar Grill itself but also next door where you can sit and enjoy your food. Inside seating is comfortable, and everything was nice and clean.
I ordered the Train Wreck Smash Burger, and fair warning: it is VERY messy. Chili, fried egg, bacon — super flavorful and tasty, but you’ll want extra napkins. Totally worth it if you don’t mind getting a little dirty.
I also had the maple bourbon wings, which were sticky, sweet, and delicious. Messy as expected, but cooked well and full of flavor. The curled potato wedge fries were excellent — crispy, seasoned well, and a great side. Had it all with a Sprite Zero, food came out fresh and hot, and the staff was friendly and welcoming.
Overall, this is a great stop whether you’re solo, with friends, or with family. Fun concept, good food, and a relaxed small-town vibe. I’d definitely come back.

This place is amazing! There were six of us in our group and we all really enjoyed our food. The burgers are great. I had a patty melt and it was huge! Everyone was so friendly and thoughtful. I wish I lived locally, I’d make this a weekly outing.

1st time visit. Cute little spot. Resturaunt is an actual boxcar and there is another boxcar brewer right next too it as well.
We got the double smash burger with brocolli salad and an order of wings tossed in their Buffalo sauce with a side of ranch.
We stopped in during Jeef Fest so they ran out of somethings like blue cheese and fries but the brocolli salad was really good, I would order it again. The burger was delicious and the wings were really good. I liked the wings a lot. The sauce seemed inhouse and it was really good.
Prices seemed reasonable.

There are places that you randomly stop in that you don’t realize that you were missing in life. We thoroughly enjoyed stopping at the brewery and grill. The owners were just fantastic to talk with. The beverages were outstanding and the food was delicious. We tried the smash burger and Cuban and WOW they were fantastic. Possibly the best Cuban in Georgia – no joke… If you have not tried these two locations, and you are within 30 miles, you are simply missing a real deal hidden gem. Give them a try ASAP. You absolutely won’t regret it! So good ..

This restaurant and brewery are so cool! Being that I’m a big rail fan, I had to stop and check this place out. The property consists of two coachmen passenger cars and one caboose. If you’re lucky you can watch one of the marble trains drive by while you’re eating. These cars are sitting alongside the old Louisville/Nashville line that connects Marietta to Blue Ridge.
The restaurant is at the end of the passenger cars and the brewery is on the caboose side. However you can sit and eat wherever you’d like! The people that work here are super friendly and will talk to you about anything which is hard to come by these days. I also believe they make some of the best burgers in Georgia, reminds me of the Vortex in Atlanta. I’ll definitely be making this stop whenever I go visit Amicalola Falls!

This restaurant is in the boxcar next to the brewery! Brilliant! You’d think that you couldn’t get good food on a train, and you’d be wrong! We got the Bordeaux burger and it was so good! The fries were amazing as well! They have a little wine bar at the opposite side of the kitchen, and they serve some local wines and some ciders from Reece’s cidery up the street. If you are looking for some good beer, good food and some relaxing time outdoors, this is the spot!
