We ordered the grilled cheese & tomato soup for the kids & then helped them eat it! So good! And it’s warm inside. Makes you want to hunker down for a winter evening. Very friendly staff. My kids also enjoyed the Christmas train. Thank you!

It is so nice to finally have a nice family restaurant to go to. That doesn’t try to rip you off like the other local food places in our small town. Amazing food and wonderful atmosphere without breaking the bank. The patties are fresh made and the onion rings are fresh cut and battered. So yummy. Oh and free refills on all beverages

Service was great, got the chicken sandwich and a breakfast platter. Best onion rings ever. You can tell they make try to make everything themselves. We had a wonderful dining experience. Plenty of seating, the waitress was attentive to our needs and great with the kids. The orders came out fresh and hot. (The Chili Cheese Fries we’re amazing!)

I have been there three times; once for breakfast and twice for dinner. I was so impressed! The onion rings are to die for. Not over battered and you can still taste the sweetness of the onion. Sausage biscuits and gravy are so good, just like in Alabama. I’ve had the burger twice, excellent! Last night I ordered a chili burger. The chef accomodated me and I was so happy with my dinner. Kudos to Chef Ethan and my servers Brenda and Pamela! I will be making Box Car Diner my “go to” restaurant. Thank you all!

Quaint diner that was just remodeled under new management/ownership (around January 2023).
Cole, our waitress, was super friendly and helpful with information we were asking about the area.
French toast and cheese steak omelette were both delicious. They each came with hash browns and I ordered a side of sausage.

We ate trying so hard to be patient as this is a new owner and it takes time to settle in. Twice in the last week we ate here, first customers in the door. Last time it took an hour to get our omelets and again today, first customers and it was cold. Children shouldn’t be wandering around and although uniforms are expensive, your help should be clean and hair combed. 6 employees were sitting at the tables when we walked in and yet the trash was overflowing in the bathroom. I want them to succeed but a little polish might be in order. They are nice people but I’m skeptical.

Worst restaurant around! Service was bad, food was bad, place was dirty (and not open very long yet). I can’t believe the windows are trimmed in red duct tape! Waitress knew nothing and could not handle her job at all. I had stuffed french toast which was raw on the inside of the toast part. My boyfriend had an omlet that was cooked until it was browned on the outside. Would not recommend to anyone!
