This was a very cool bar/restaurant. We stopped in for a drink and an appetizer. We were traveling in the area and heard this area was a cool place to go. There are quite a few bars in this City, we ended up at Boxcar. We sat at the bar and had wonderful service from the bartender. We had a number of good conversation with her. We ordered off their happy hour. The boom boom shrimp was delicious. I got a non alcoholic sour, which was quite tasty. My wife got a couple of local brews. which she liked very much. There was a cool vibe throughout and pretty cool looking. Would definitely come back again and try their full menu.

Parking: QCode…it was free for 1st 2 hours. Plenty of parking. Close to the beltline.
Server: CJ was awesome, friendly and funny.
Atmosphere: The vibe is upbeat. I like it. Nice place for dates, hanging with friends or family.

Drinks: My drink i like. I will order it again the persimmon martini.

It’s always a cool, casual vibe at this place. I recently dined in for Saturday brunch. I ordered their delicious, decadent Bananas Foster French Toast with scrambled eggs. The toast was a real treat and burst with flavor. I received excellent service from Savanagh, my waitress. The food is always fresh to order when I visit. There is plenty of seating with some seating on the outside patio as well. This place is great for fun crowds, big or small. Bar seating is available.

I’ve visited BoxCar twice. The staff are very friendly and attentive. Both times I visited I ordered the happy hour fried Brussel sprouts, buffalo chicken meatballs, and margarita. The Brussel sprouts are good, but I will ask for less sauce next time. The buffalo chicken meatballs are my favorite. The portion size is perfect for one person and they have the perfect crunch and just the right amount of spice. I don’t like blue cheese, but their blue cheese pairs well with the meatballs. Michael was my waiter and he made great recommendations despite me ordering my go to, checked on me often, and made sure that I received my food and margarita in a timely fashion. I will definitely go back to try other menu items, the beer, and to enjoy the ambiance.

Relaxed atmosphere with friendly waitstaff. Our food came out quickly! We did the mimosa carafe which ended up being plenty for 2 to share. The bottle of Prosecco comes with your choice of 2 juices. I chose the Lemon Pepper Fish & Chips with a side of Brussels. The fish was good. The coleslaw is missing something, but I couldn’t put my finger on it. It was creamy, but bland.

Groovy warehouse district turned brewery district, right on the south side beltline. Dont worry about space, they got plenty. Next door is a food hall if you can’t find a choice at boxcar.
