The Pan Con Bistec Sandwich was one of the best sandwiches I’ve EVER had!
Looking at their prices, I thought it was a bit pricey but once I got the sandwich, the quality and quantity justify the price. It was worth every penny! Also, Friendly staff, quick service, and very clean. I went back the next day to try their Cuban sandwich which was also delicious. Can’t wait to go back to try their Chopped Cheeseburger.

Have to say this place was delicious!!! I can’t wait to go back. We had a pan con bistec and a Cuban and they were both amazing. The steak was so tender. If you’re in the area or thinking twice don’t. Stop by you’ll love it. The empanadas were ok, I wasn’t really crazy about them though they looked good, where meaty which was nice but I couldn’t put my fingers on it. I love empanadas, I order them every where I go.

The staff was welcoming and friendly. You can tell they’re passionate about what they’re doing. It was our first visit, so we got the Cuban Style French Toast, a classic Cuban, and a trio of empanadas. Oh my goodness! The food was SO good. The French toast was soft and eggy and delicious. The guava drizzle put it over the top! The Cuban was toasted and pressed just right. The combination of the soft bread on the inside with the warm meat, and the pickles sliced lengthwise, perfect. Empanadas were equally tasty. Try the guava and cream cheese one to finish off your meal. Excited to hear they opened a Valrico location. We will definitely be back!

Man, I’ve been here three times so far and I’ve loved my meal every time. Had the polymia steak bowl, grilled chicken bowl, and I just tried out there Pan con bistec sandwich today! And every meal has been amazing! I look forward to continuing to come back and keep trying out the whole menu! Customer service is great and the staff is very friendly. If you like Cuban food this will definitely not disappoint.

We were in town for 5 days, and our first day, decided to try Box of Cubans for lunch as it was just down the road from our hotel. Well let me tell you, we ended up going there 4 times in 5 days! It’s THAT good! The staff is all super helpful and friendly – top notch service. The atmosphere is welcoming and it smells amazing when you walk in. The first day, we had the Pan Con Bistec sandwich, the Lechon sandwich and a picadillo empanada. Delicious! We went back the next day for take-out and got the lechon bowl, and red beans and rice. Again, delicious! The third visit, we split the Cuban sandwich and a deviled crab croquette (not on the menu, recommended by a worker). This was the best Cuban I’d ever eaten. Super moist, melt in your mouth pork, and just a hint of mustard and pickles, unlike most places that put too much on the sandwich to the point that it’s all you can taste. Our last visit, we were initially going for the breakfast sandwiches, but since we had loved our previous meals so much, we had the Cuban and Lechon sandwiches again, along with cafe con leches and guava flan. I wish they would open up here in Chicago, however I’d probably end up there WAY too often, to the detriment of my wallet and weight. LOL Stop by, you won’t be disappointed!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 Stars!
I had an amazing experience at Box of Cubans! The owner was so kind and even treated us to a free guava French toast — and wow, it was absolutely incredible. The steak and egg sandwich was off the charts, packed with flavor and perfectly cooked. The empanadas were also outstanding — crispy, savory, and delicious.

Both the food and the staff were amazing. You can really feel the passion and care they put into everything. Highly recommend this spot — I’ll definitely be coming back!

Born and raised in Tampa I’ve been preparing and eating Tampa Cuban food for 60+ years and admittedly I’m a little arrogant about it. I had passed over Box of Cubans a few times because I just didn’t think a Cuban restaurant in New Tampa would be this good but just couldn’t ignore their great reviews. We tried the pork, rice and beans, empanadas, deviled crab, croquettes and their Cuban sandwich and everything was just so good. Pork is always the yard stick for me and theirs is just outstanding. Marcos and the other folks are so nice and really into making sure you’re enjoying their food and your time with them. Highest possible recommendation.

My sister spoke highly about this place and I saw the great reviews. so decided to give it a try with my pops. But it fell short of expectations. Pros:

– Croquettes were good
– Service was excellent and friendly employees
-Ample Parking

Con:

– Place was not to full and our small order took 20 minutes to arrive
– Cafe con Leche was served in a huge foam cup and it was mostly milk
– We asked for sugar packets and they didn’t have any so sugar was given in a cup with a straw to stir
– Egg,Cheese and Ham sandwich was subpar. Lacking real flavor and the bread was soggy not really toasted.
– Medianoche sandwich was mid at best. No real flavor either and condiments felt old.
-Empanada is expensive. $5 for a small empanada is pretty steep
– Asked for a “cortado” coffee (Expresso shot) and it was loaded with too much sugar

All in all we won’t be coming back.. I wish them luck, but they need to improve. Ps: We are both latinos and have eaten at probably hundreds of latino bakery’s here and back home.
