I LOVE BOX CAR CAFE !
This is a simple small family diner, nothing fancy. The decor is fun and funny. The staff are the FRIENDLIEST people you’ll ever meet.
The food is cooked fresh and served hot. had 2 eggs sunny side up, toast, gravy and potatoes with a coffee. Everything was GREAT !
I prefer a small diner like this over bog chain restaurants.

Meat and 3 plate with desert and drink for a very reasonable price! Delicious food and friendly service. Clean and welcoming dining room and kitchen. Southern comfort food with generous portions. I will definitely be back! checkout their daily specials on FB. Cash only!!

Excellent Food, Excellent Service, and Excellent Ambiance! My sister and I ate breakfast together at the Boxcar Cafe in Downtown Sheffield which is across the street from Sheffield Utilities and not far from the railroad tracks either right after my 8:00 AM doctors appointment at Medical Associates Of The Shoals and even though we did not see a train it’s possible and likely that we heard one go by while we were there and I had the chocolate gravy biscuits with bacon and bologna and coffee with 2 creamers added with the coffee and it was excellent and anytime we are up early going somewhere in the city of Sheffield that’s the place we are going to go every time! If you’re in the city of Sheffield or going to Sheffield and you want to eat breakfast somewhere in town I highly recommend you go to the Boxcar Cafe! It’s one of the best restaurants in the city of Sheffield!

Wanted to try this restaurant this morning but they only take cash or check, sadly it’s 2025 and I don’t always have cash and certainly don’t use checks anymore. I chose not to spend my money at an atm to eat there because I knew I could go elsewhere and not have to foot the bill to do business.
