Best Tuna Fish and Chips EVER! I try and find some of the coasts best food and food “truck” like places. This was one of the best I have ever had.

We came here in a Saturday afternoon for a late lunch. All four of us got full orders. The portion sizes are good but not huge. I loved the fish. It had an unusual crispy coating. The fries were good, but were not hot. Prices were decent. Please note, this place is cash only.

We came by on a hot and busy day. There was a parade going on, so there was a long line. The staff was handling the crowd very well and were getting orders done well and fast. They didn’t complain about my groups large order. Everyone in our group was very impressed with the food and we were all in agreement that it was the best fish and chips we had ever had. The tuna makes it a more substantial meal in my opinion and has a great texture. The batter was perfectly fried to create just the right crunch. The fries were good too, but the fish was definitely the star of the show. It would be well worth planning a trip to Astoria around the fish and chips. I also have to mention that having a food cart that is literally a boat is super cool.

Great fish but the steak cut fries were my favorite. We arrived at a little after noon on a Wednesday and waited about an hour in line. Crazy, right? But we had good conversation with other in line making the time pass quickly. A few of us in line had brought chairs. They were lifesavers. Cash only with no ATM.

I loved everything about Bowpicker Fish and Chips! The line was about 30 deep but moved quickly. Easily struck up conversations with the locals I was in line with. Fresh Albacore Tuna in a light, crispy batter.

Every time I drive through Astoria, I have wanted to eat here and finally did. I’m so glad we stopped. The fish and chips are so tasty and very reasonably priced. The tartar sauce is also very tasty. You are in and out lickety split. Hubby got the full order (5 pieces) and I got the half order (3 pieces) and it was the perfect amount of food for each of us. We took our food down to the water’s edge to eat and it was very relaxing. I definitely recommend their fish and chips.

If you find yourself in the Astoria area and your beginning or finishing your visits to all “The Goonies” filming locations, and you require nourishment, look no further. This spot is a gem in the Astoria area and offers some of the most delicious fish and chips you may ever experience! Prepared and served from a boat that is currently and permanently drydocked. The fish servings are quality, and you receive a thick cut of what I describe as a fish steak. It’s definitely a cut above from the usual cut of fish used for fish and chips. The chips are a golden brown, crispy, and delicious! I’d get the “whole order. ” This spot is ‘cash only, ‘ and the line can get long, but moves quickly and is definitely worth the wait. Softdrinks and water are offered, no booze. But after you finish dining, your tummy will be pleasantly filled and prepped for the alternate liquid consumption of your choice. Outside seating only, but there are benches provided, and the surrounding view is amazing! This spot is a must!!!

Couple of things to note before the review: the place is cash only and there’s a line even before opening, as well as there’s no seating! This menu is very simple, with two options for a meal, plus sides and drinks. Fish and chips.. let’s get to it. Perfect crispy, light, airy batter, with a fresh, nugget-style piece of fish that’s so tender and fresh it almost melts in your mouth. Staff is very friendly. They’ve mastered this simple yet often overly complicated food. You won’t regret eating from here; there’s a reason their ratings are so high.
