Stopped by on my drive back to the Midwest. They had just opened when I arrived. I ordered the fish platter with fries and okra. While the okra and fries were ok, the fish was hot and fresh. I waited a few minutes to get my order so I knew it would be hot. I did not have the BBQ but folks were lined up for it. I would recommend the fish in the platter or poboy!

Great place to stop and eat. We drive 40 miles round trip just to come eat here . It’s not fancy it’s old time setting and old time log cabin. In the winter months the fire place is very nice. The staff is nice and the food is good . Even though this is a BBQ place they do serve outstanding fried catfish . I order it almost every time I go. All the meals are good and you get all you can eat hushpuppies with any order and they are tasty. So if your wanting a easy laid-back meal and good food give it a try we like it. O the unsweetened tea is also very good.

The fried catfish platter was pretty good.
The fish was very good but the fried okra was a bit tough. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Yes I will eat there again next time I’m in Brookhaven !

Food was rather cold but it was okay. The slaw was on point and the baked beans. Did like the Mason jars for drinks that was a nice touch. Like I mention I though my food was cold for BBQ I ordered that combo plate. Flavor was average but as a bonus they did give free hush puppies.
The atmosphere was good I especially liked the decor, and the homey feel of it.

I’ve only eaten here two times and both times were at lunch and both visits were great. On my last visit I chose the two meat plate….I had the ribs, chicken (dark meat), green beans and fried okra and it was all very good. They also have a large pan of hush puppies….so, of course, I tried a couple of them and they were really good. Also, their bbq sauce is fantastic. I look forward to my next visit to Bowie Barbeque!!
