When we arrived we were nervous as the place appeared very intimate. We came from Christmas Eve service and appeared to be well over dressed. The team appeared to be young and they do well but were running around verses being attentive to all the customers. Our niece ordered a rib eye steak and it was delicious. We would also encourage the truffle covered waffle fries. These were beyond delicious and I would return just for these and I do not eat fries or potatoes as a rule. My wife and I shared a filet mignon with an order of grilled onions & mushrooms and asparagus. The quantity and quality were 5 star. The dessert was a cookie with ice cream in a skillet. It was ice cream over load and was amazing.

The space itself is warm and inviting, with exposed brick, an impressive wall of spirits behind the bar, and a lively but not overwhelming energy that makes it great for both a date night or a laid-back evening out.
The food is where Bovine really shines. The steak was cooked beautifully—tender, flavorful, and topped with a rich, creamy compound butter that elevated every bite. Sides were just as strong: crisp waffle fries with plenty of seasoning, grilled asparagus done perfectly, and a soft roll to round everything out. Portions were generous without being excessive, and everything arrived hot and well-presented. Pairing the meal with a cocktail from their well-stocked bar only added to the experience.
Overall, Bovine is a great choice for anyone looking for quality food, solid drinks, and a welcoming atmosphere in Midlothian. It’s the kind of place you’ll want to come back to—whether for a full meal or just a drink at the bar.

Myself and 2 of my friends were in the area and a local recommend it to us. Im happy that she did. Even though the establishment is in old downtown, the vibe was modern and fresh. The food was exceptional. Amazing portions and the service was great and with an sincere smile. We finished the meal with their carrot cake. It was so delicious. I highly recommend. I give Bovine 2 thumbs up:)

This was a little different than I expected. I thought this was going to be an overrated steak shop, but was I wrong. The menu has good selections, the adult drinks are reasonably priced, and the food is amazing. Highly recommend mac and cheese for a side. Our server was polite and attentive. Definitely coming back!

We’ve been waiting for a long time for a steakhouse this good close to home. No more driving to the Stockyards for a steak and no more settling for a “steak” from Logan’s, Chili’s, etc.
Let’s start with the appetizer. Cheese curds… my absolute favorite. It came out quickly with two sauces. Southwest ranch, of course, but wait for it… caramel sauce. Sure, I was reluctant. I even made my youngest child try it first. I mean, I sacrificed my body for that child, he owes me. For those who can remember way back when, he’s like “Mikey,” and doesn’t like anything. But Mikey liked it… no, he LOVED it!!! So, I tried it. Wow!! It’s like eating a bite of funnel cake with a slice of cheese. Heaven. My husband wasn’t a fan, but he has questionable taste anyways, so he doesn’t count. Order it, try it for yourself, you won’t be disappointed. And if you are, at least you can say you tried cheese curds with caramel sauce. You live life on the edge.
Now, the steak. Y’all, we are talking about real steak from a real grill at a decent price. It’s a healthy slab of steak that every carnivore dreams of. From a cow that lived a glorious life munching on manna from up above. Tender, juicy, and grilled to order, it melts in your mouth. You’ll take your time to savor every bite. Unless you’re my 16 year old “Mikey” that has stopped chewing his food and inhales the 20 oz T-bone, looking around for any food left unguarded on our plates. However, he was unsuccessful in his quest to steal food off our plates because we guarded everything with our steak knives. Normally, I share because he’s my baby. But nope, no sharing here, it’s that good.
Go try this place out. Especially if you live close. And if you do have to drive, do it, visit Midlo, it’s a great town with great people. And this restaurant deserves a chance.

Great food and service. I had the steak fingers and my wife had the cod and shrimp (fried). Don’t tell mom, but the steak fingers were better than mom’s. Tender and oh so tasty. My wife had no complaints with the cod and fish; there was nothing left so that should day something.
We’ll definitely be back to try their steaks.

A nice date restaurant. We had potato skins for the appetizer and the NY strip and the Porterhouse. Both were very good. The grilled asparagus was excellent.

First time visit last night. Great service. Really great steak and seafood entrees, way beyond the ordinary. Atmosphere was very fine, live music medium loud in the front, nicely quiet in the back. Highly recommend.

Had a great experience here! It’s a casual steakhouse, not fine dining … so if you go in with the right expectations, you’ll probably enjoy it like we did. The food was delicious, drinks were solid, and the service was friendly and attentive. I saw some harsh reviews and honestly don’t get it… people can be way too critical sometimes. We’ll definitely be back!

Okay experience. Almost everything I tried to order was out of stock. I had the filet mignon and Southwest Salad, and I think my husband had the ribeye. The food tasted okay. I was under the impression that this was a fine dining experience, so I dressed all fancy, however, the atmosphere is very casual. We were seated in the first half of the restaurant, which is in a small space. I felt cramped. The best part of this experience was the service; it was fantastic! Ten out of ten for our waiter!
