We made a reservation as soon as we checked into our hotel and headed straight to Bourbon House for dinner. The restaurant is located on a lively stretch of Bourbon Street, and the atmosphere hits you immediately — vibrant crowds and incredible live jazz spilling into the street. It felt like the perfect New Orleans welcome.

We were seated right away, and the service was warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming.

To start, we ordered the char-broiled oysters — rich, buttery, and packed with flavor. For the main course, we had shrimp and grits and the fried shrimp platter. Both dishes were perfectly cooked and full of classic Louisiana flavor. We finished with crème brûlée, which was smooth, creamy, and the perfect sweet ending.

Everything came out quickly, the food was excellent, and the overall experience was fantastic. Definitely a spot we’d return to on our next visit to New Orleans.

This gem is attached to the Astor Hotel. They absolutely did not disappoint! We ordered a couple of ipa’s to start along with the seafood gumbo, then for entrees we had the pork belly and the alligator and crawfish rigatoni. Served with complimentary french bread these options were incredibly delicious! The pasta was perfectly cooked, pork belly had the right amount of crush, and the spice infused gumbo slapped stupid hard! Our server Angel was new but was super sweet and had a wonderful team behind him in Giovanni and Suzy! We were overall well taken care of and absolutely enjoyed every bite! We will be back and certainly plan on sending our fellow foodies their way! Good show yall, we appreciated your hospitality!

I absolutely love this place. The oysters are top-tier, especially when topped with crab. Great drinks and place to learn about local spirits. Good follow up restaurant for the Sazarac House.

This place is a New Orleans classic, lately though, as a long time customer, there are some pros and cons….

1) food is consistently good. Red fish on the half shell never disappoints! French bread unmatched.

2) service consistently leaves a lot to be desired. We waited past our reservation time to be seated even though we arrived early (many empty tables—party of 4). The entire service was slow. We had to look for waitress multiple times and keep asking for refills, etc.

We ordered drinks, appetizers, and dinner all in one shot in order to have an efficient dinner timeline. Appetizers came out, we finished them, and drinks still weren’t made.

Our drinks came when dinner came. The restaurant definitely lost sales opportunity because we liked the drinks and would have ordered more, but at that rate of service we didn’t want to waste more time.

Other things have also cheapened—lemons that are served with dinner no longer come with nets to prevent seeds from falling in your food. To go cups are no longer the “Bourbon House” branded ones. No coasters.

Keep the quality and just charge me a little more. We come for nice food, good experience, and high quality, not cut corners.

Signed—a NOLA local.

Ivan and Perry did amazing! I hope you all are recognizing the bartenders, in addition to the servers. Those two did amazing Al’s truly made the meal more enjoyable! Food was so good we forgot to take photos. We had the chargrilled oysters, Brussels sprouts, and shrimp boudin balls. Justin was a server who passed by and gave great info on the city.

Loved the vibe of this restaurant and it right on Bourbon Street!

Ordered the boudin balls, shrimp & grits and shared oysters with crab. Boudin appetizer was good, shrimp & grits were one of the best I’ve had so far in NOLA and oysters were really good. I would definitely come back again.

We sat at the bar and had laughs with people… it was a nice vibe.

I rated 5 stars because not only was the food good. Our waitress, Dorika, was the best. She was attentive to taking our order and gave suggestions when needed. We felt tremendously comfortable. And then delicious shrimp and grits were served, New Orleans style. Delicious.

My crocodile and crayfish pasta was really good. Another patron at my table order pork belly, which had no meat on it. It was all fat, so they didn’t charge us for it. The shrimp had a very strong smell to it, as though it had been laying around for quite some time and was about to expire. Nothing was done about that when we brought it to their attention.
