I’ve always wanted to love this place as it’s so close to home and I love the environment. But it’s expensive and the food leaves a lot to be desired. The fries are always cold and tastes like the oil was old. I’ve tried a few of this restaurant group’s places and have not been a fan of any of them.
The parking lot is often empty. Even right now on a Friday night, there are four tables, another table near the bar and then my partner and I at the bar. At one point, we were here three Sundays in a row (like I said, it’s so close to home!) and we found out we were the only customers all day for two of those Sundays.
Wait staff has been hit or miss. Some are really on top and great to talk to. Then nights like tonight, there’s three people behind the bar and it still took 10 minutes to get drinks. In fact, tonight my partner needed a beer and asked that I get him one while he ran to the restroom. They still hadn’t been around to ask by the time he got back… and we were the only ones at the bar!
I hope it gets better ♀️

We had a wonderful experience here. Our server Suzette (who is now our sauce boss #2) was very welcoming and had wonderful recommendations. The food was on point! Ribs fell off the bone, onion rings were flakey and delicious, the mustard greens were a hit as well. Lastly, the sauces were fire. Id recommend the Alabama sauce, house ranch and seasoned sour cream with the fries.

Great time today at Bourbon Butcher Kitchen and Bar.
We had an after meeting at this establishment in Farmington today.
Walking up to the entrance we encountered the wafting BBQ smells coming from behind the restaurant’s smoker.
Great modern upscale environment with more bottles of bourbon, whiskey and scotches behind the bar than I’ve seen in a long time.
Bartender service was impeccable and timely.
The Ultimate Bloody Mary was ridiculous. Made from scratch bloody mix, lime, lemon, pickle, olive, smoked chicken wing, egg, bacon and a rib served with a 16 oz Miller high life chaser. Absolutely amazing!
For my bunch meal I enjoyed the
Benedict hash with over easy eggs from the brunch menu.
The hollandaise sauce was creamy, with a hint of lemon and perfect texture.
It included fried diced potatoes, onions, peppers, and pulled pork served in a cast iron pan. Definitely will stop in again when in the south metro. Thanks for having us.

To my surprise, the Bourbon Butcher offers vegetarian options (bean burger patties & salads). I ordered the lunch special (pick 2 for $15) – Cobb Salad (no bacon) and Apple Pecan Salad (pictured below) and was not disappointed! I must add that our server was very attentive and we never had to ask for water/soda refills.

Shitty over salted bbq. High prices for food that is mediocre at best. Sub par sanitary standards. Thank goodness for dark colors and low lighting I guess. Staff untrained and unprofessional. 20 people total in the restaurant and 12 of them work there, yet it still took 10 minutes to get a drink refill as the only two patrons at the bar, and two bartenders standing behind the bar.
Staff having inappropriate conversations, while being the loudest people in the place.
Four employees were standing there at one point, one of them not working tonight, talking about how it’s unfair that their expected to compete against their other locations for sales, yet as they were bitching, we couldn’t get service to save our lives.
830pm on a Friday as the only real sit down restaurant in Farmington and the place is a ghost town…..wonder why.
Only person working hard or taking care of patrons was the female server. No one assisted her….. guess they were too busy ignoring the other table.

I was not expecting to have such amazing food for our families Thanksgiving dinner… we had ribs, brisket, chicken, all the sides n deserts n salad… it was probably the best chicken I’ve ever had. It was so much food I even hot to have it as leftovers and it was even good reheated, which isn’t common. I’ve only like Brussels sprouts twice in my life, they do them right. The staff was so nice and on top of everything even though we had a large private party. I will definitely be back even though I live 3 hours away.

Bourbon Barrel is a hidden gem! Their food is some of the most adventurous and downright delicious around—every dish feels like a flavor expedition. The beer selection is wild, and they’ve got bourbons I haven’t seen in ages. Whether you’re a foodie, a craft beer nerd, or a bourbon lover, this place is absolutely worth the stop.

Went here for my birthday dinner with friends. Right when we got there they were confused on how to seat us. (Party of 6, booked the reservation over a month in advance) Food was good. Service was alright, except the waitress kept walking away before we were done ordering. After dinner we decided to move outside where there was a guy playing the guitar/singing. Got scolded for a couple of our party smoking outside. No sign that says this. Also mentioned that people can smoke in front of the building but not on the side patio. Which makes no sense! After that the manager kept opening the patio door to check on us to see is anyone was still smoking.(we were the only ones on the patio for the last 1 1/2 hours) The saving grace was that the food was pretty good and there was live music. Everyone at the table did talk and agree that we wouldn’t be going back there for a while. Hopefully if or when we do decide to go back, we will have a better experience!
