The Bourbon Academy Tasting Room, situated post-security within the Muhammad Ali International Airport, provides an exclusive dining and tasting venue. Patrons can appreciate expansive views of the airfield and the airport’s rotunda while enjoying the refined comfort of our lounge area, furnished with leather sofas and love seats. An extensive beverage selection features over 70 rare and exclusive bourbons, alongside popular choices and a fully stocked bar. Culinary offerings, including vegetarian options, are available to accompany your beverage selection. For guest entertainment, we have 4K televisions display sports and news throughout the day, and a flight status board ensures timely departures.

Listen. When you’re in KY you drink bourbon. We’re from KY and we love bourbon. We’re flying out of SDF for Christmas- on vacation, so we thought let’s have a drink before the flight. We go upstairs to this nice bourbon tasting room. We decided to get two old fashioneds. This is when we receive the two sips in glasses pictured below. This is not Wisconsin. Why is there a cherry and a slice of orange. Why is it so little? I asked it it was made with just one ounce of bourbon.. he said it was an ounce and a quarter. Watch out yall- you might get drunk.
Not only was that so blasphemous but then the poor server tried to make it better by saying that he “couldn’t find the upcharge button” so we were only paying for the bourbon. Thanks so much dude.
Moral of the story this “drink” is a disgrace to my hometown and we’re scaring away the tourists

I had an amazing experience at the Bourbon Tasting Academy! As a bourbon lover, this place is perfect as you wait for your flight.
A special shoutout to McKenna, who truly made the experience unforgettable. She suggested and crafted my very first bourbon Bloody Mary, and wow, I didn’t know bourbon could work so well in that format. It was bold, balanced, and honestly a game-changer. Her creativity and friendly energy elevated the whole experience.
The Bourbon Tasting Academy is a must. Come for the bourbon, stay for the people (and definitely say yes to McKenna’s recommendations!)

This would have been a 1 star if not for McKenna. Was seated for a long time without service. Saw folks who came in after me get waited on. Was about to raise a fuss but McKenna saved the day. Came over even though I wasn’t in her section. Took great care of me. Food was good. Beer and bourbon good. Service by McKenna was great!

We stopped by the Bourbon Academy Tasting Room before our flight. We asked for food recommendations from our server, Tiffany, and we were not disappointed! The smash burgers were amazing! The pecan chocolate chip pie was also delicious. We highly recommend the Bourbon Academy Tasting Room!!

An airport gem. Tiffany was our bartender she is amazing always checking on us keeping us well fed and resonantly inebriated lol. Great selection of bourbon with some unicorns sprinkled in for max joy. Give them a try you won’t regret it.
