Jerk chicken and stew chicken are both delicious. The stew chicken is more like a BBQ taste to me. The cabbage i didnt think that i would like but I did!it didnt look like cabbage i would typically get from a NY Jamaican resturant but it taste like it. Plantain were perfect. Not sweet not dry just a nice medium. Mac and cheese is good, not my personal fav but its cool. I enjoyed the rice, especially in the sauce. Also the jerk sauce is on the side, so those who can’t eat spicy, can order jerk chicken and just dont use the sauce. Service was friendly and fast. We would come again

I ordered a side of oxtails, came with 5 small bones full of Fat. jerk chicken, and rice. Unfortunately, I was really disappointed. The oxtails were mostly bones and fat with very little meat, lacking flavor and tenderness. I also ordered a side of jerk chicken and rice, but instead was given a jerk chicken plate that already came with rice. It didn’t make sense to be charged separately for rice.

The jerk chicken itself was good, and the lady who was grilling was nice enough to make sure I had fresh chicken. The jerk sauce was okay but not the best I’ve had. Rice and peas were good, but the cabbage lacked seasoning .

The service felt flat and weird and the overall energy wasn’t welcoming. I paid $63 and felt like I didn’t get value for my money. Because of the poor oxtails and overall experience, I will not be returning.

First Jamaican experience with my son. Disappointed, Jerk chicken and oxtail plate. Cash only. Driedness of chicken and boiled down oxtail both overcooked. Must been left over … Definitely not made to order, $20~$30 felt over priced.

Stumbled across this place while driving with my husband and wanted to give it a shot, we are so happy we did! We have tried a few local Jamaican spots in the past, but they were never really that good. We had the oxtail and jerk chicken plate with plantain’s and everything had so much flavor. We will definitely be back!

I’m still dreaming about this plate and place!

This place made me miss Jamaica. I had the oxtail and the gravy on the rice &peas was AMAZING! The food here is really flavored to compliment the sides but also fresh and hot. I also had a patty, soursop juice and ginger pineapple juice and all of it was soooo good!

My friend had shrimp pasta and I could taste the wine reduction in it and when I say it takes the taste to another level….another friend has jerk chicken and he was complaining that he wanted to take the food home and couldn’t stop eating.

All in all, Bouka’s is a SUPER hit! It is cash only, so make sure you bring your cash (but there’s an ATM on site if you forget). But either way, try this place and thank me later.

Beef Patty was phenomenal, Curried Goat on White Rice with Plantains & Stewed Cabbage, undeniably AMAZING! Then i tasted the Jerk Chicken & that Chicken with the Jerk Sauce had me Dancing! And to wash it all down the in house made fruit punch juice. Amazing food, Humble Owner and Chef, Highly Recommend.

Idk how this place has 4.8 stars. This place terrible, it’s honestly the worse Jamaican food I have ever had. The Oxtails were sweet and so greasy, I could have greased my scalp, did a hot oil treatment on my entire head and body. The rice and peas were dry and flavorless and the curry goat was just spicy and ok. To top it off I waited 45 mins for it, because I think they forgot my order. Ugh, I’m mad and still hungry.

ATT to the OWNERS OF BOUKA RESTAURANT!

I am extremely disappointed with my recent experience at Bouka’s Jamaican Restaurant. Unfortunately, the customer service we received was completely unacceptable.

I literally drove 30 minutes to this location specifically to try the food, and this was the experience I encountered. When I asked Niccole whether jerk wings were available, she simply responded that they were not. I then politely asked what chicken options were available, and she refused to provide an answer. When I requested to purchase a pie, she declined to serve me altogether and stated that she was denying me service.

Her tone and behavior were rude, dismissive, and highly unprofessional. As a paying customer, I expected basic courtesy and clear communication. Instead, I felt disrespected and uncomfortable.

The situation escalated when she went to the back kitchen and brought another woman out to confront us, which felt intimidating and completely unnecessary…. especially since the woman did not even appear to understand the main issue. It felt like harassment rather than conflict resolution.

This experience left me feeling unfairly treated and deeply disappointed. I sincerely hope the owner takes the time to investigate this matter and address it appropriately. No customer should drive that far to support a business and be treated in such a disrespectful manner. Professionalism and respectful service should always be the standard.

My husband and I went to Bouka’s Jamaican Restaurant after church service on May 18th. David the server was very courteous and professional. The restaurant was nice and clean. The food was off the chart. The oxtails fell off the bone. I could have a few more pieces added to go with the heavy portion of the peas and rice. My husband ordered jerk chicken and he loved it. We will definitely go back.
