My husband took me there for my 40th birthday last night and it was perfection! He wanted it to be special to me so that was the only option for dining. Vesna waited on us and the service was phenomenal and so personal, she really made the experience even better!!! Every single dish exceeded expectations and was expertly crafted, executed, and presented (per usual Bottega standards). Hands down, this is the best restaurant in the south and yes I’m biased!

We enjoyed a wonderful late lunch accompanied by excellent cocktails and wine. We chose to sit indoors, where the ambiance was warm and inviting. Our server was exceptionally attentive and provided helpful menu recommendations, including the fresh swordfish sandwich—which proved to be extraordinary. The redfish entrée and the beautifully prepared pizza were equally impressive. The calamari and focaccia starters were delightful. Having frequented a beloved Miami North Beach spot for over 15 years specifically for their fish sandwich, I can confidently say this one surpasses it. A truly exceptional dining experience.

We went for my birthday and it was our first time visiting. The service was amazing from entry to the bar to the table. The portion sizes aren’t too big but I had an appetizer along with my meal and desserts so it was enough to have room for it all. The fresh florals on the tables were a nice touch to the ambiance.

Bottega is the real deal. I just bought a coconut cake for Valentine’s Day but it’s really nice in the inside. I think you need reservations. The coconut cake is delicious and worth the price.

Our dining experience at this restaurant was exceptional. Ivan, our server, was exceptionally courteous and attentive, consistently exceeding our expectations. As food enthusiasts celebrating our honeymoon, we were thoroughly impressed by the culinary offerings. We commenced our meal with the tagliolini, my husband opted for the lamb chops, and I indulged in the yellowfin tuna. We highly recommend this establishment for a memorable dining experience.

Excellent, but probably slightly overrated. Ordered the Bolognese and it was extremely salty. The sausage that came with it already had salt in it and then they must’ve added more or dropped box of salt into it by mistake. Very pricing lotta up of people that think there’s something more than they are, and they might be something more than they are. Bartenders and serving staff almost have the same attitude. The bartender guy didn’t acknowledge me for almost 15 minutes sitting there then he was kind enough after cleaning and wiping zero people spots then said what can I do for you. What? What you can do for me is welcoming offer me a menu or what my intentions are if I’d like a drink or not.Whatever anyway it’s a good place. If you want to treat yourself or you enjoy such.

Overall, we had a good experience. The ambiance is beautiful — definitely one of those places you go to catch a vibe and enjoy the atmosphere. It feels polished and stylish, and it’s easy to see why it has the reputation it does within the Birmingham area.
That said, given the restaurant’s prestige and noteworthiness locally, I was expecting a bit more from the food. Everything we ordered was solid and well-prepared, but nothing quite had the “wow” factor I anticipated. Considering the incremental price point compared to other Italian spots in the area, I was hoping for a more memorable or standout dish.
Service was fine — professional and pleasant — but not quite as attentive as you might expect for a restaurant of this caliber.
In short, it’s a great place for the ambiance and overall experience, but if you’re specifically seeking the best Italian food in Birmingham, there may be other options that deliver more excitement on the plate.

My meal was an absolute delight from start to finish – every dish was bursting with flavor and cooked to perfection, leaving us with a lingering taste of pure culinary bliss. The corn chowder and trigger fish was a standout, with perfectly balanced spices and fresh ingredients that danced on the palate. I couldn’t resist cleaning our plates, and will definitely be back to explore more of their incredible menu! Our server was awesome!!
