I visited bontanero Latino for the first time today, and the tacos and drinks were incredible. The tortillas were unbelievably soft, the meat was packed with flavor, and everything tasted so fresh. The staff was genuinely kind and constantly checking in on us. They really exceeded my expectations. I’ll definitely be coming back!!

The best Latino spot I’ve been at in Waukegan so far. I came on my birthday (a slow day) and they put on mariachi mañanitas music, gave me flan & half of shot of tequila with lime. (I was soooo surprised) I am really grateful to them ! I love that along with a purchase of drinks you get a bar snack— Duros de harina (chicharrones). I had a piña colada and it was great. I can be a little picky with piña coladas since they can be to sweet for me but this one was just right! They have plenty of well priced food options, so best to come hungry.

Amazing staff. Best michelda I’ve had in a while! The place was super nice and great to watch sports or listen to music. Can’t wait to go back and try their food. Had their Latino dessert and it was 10/10.

I ordered a fried ice cream. They put six pieces of ice Inside the ice cream and what literally seemed like a tablespoon full of ice cream. The tortilla didn’t even have sugar on it. I literally paid them for nothing which they didn’t even give me a fork or hot sauce and I ordered two tacos with cilantro, and they gave me onions instead! IM ALLERGIC!! I definitely will never return here. Totally a waste of money I just threw it all away . My son had to use my epi pen on me THANKS

I went with my husband, and while we really enjoyed the food — it was delicious — there were several things that took away from the experience. The place itself is beautiful with great lighting, a fun theme, and good music. It has a lot of potential.
Unfortunately, the service wasn’t great. The skinny waitress with long hair took way too long to bring our food and had a bad attitude. There was also a man with a short beard and light eyes, possibly the owner or manager, who spent most of the time on his phone and seemed completely disconnected from what was happening around him. If he’s in charge, it shows in the poor service.
To top it off, the men’s bathroom was dirty and the floor was wet — not what you expect from a place trying to offer a nice dining experience. The manager should definitely be checking on the bathrooms and making sure things are clean and presentable.

I tried Botanero Latino because of a friend. I will say the food is fire! Place has a unique theme and cool lighting. Staff was also friendly with the exception of a blonde pregnant lady. She constantly kept walking over and giving us dirty looks, at first I thought it was just me being paranoid but then my friend pointed it out too. It made us feel super uncomfortable so we left. Please train your staff so they all give you the same service!
