I’m extremely disappointed with Boston Pizza – Sumas. After three bad experiences in a row, it’s clear that this location has serious management and service issues.
First visit: I waited over 25 minutes just for a beer. When I finally asked, the server told me the manager had decided to hold a staff meeting during service. Completely unacceptable.
Second visit: We found hair in the Bandera Bread. When we informed the server, she said the manager would give us 50% off the item. I clearly stated that I wasn’t asking for a discount and only wanted the issue addressed properly. She insisted the discount would be applied — it never was.
During that visit, I spoke with several servers, and every single one said the same thing: the new management is terrible, doesn’t care about staff, and doesn’t care about food quality. Sadly, it shows — the food tastes noticeably worse than it used to.
Third visit (today): We were overcharged more than $20 for drinks that were supposed to be included with the kids’ meals. We only noticed after paying the bill. When we asked for a refund, the manager refused and told us we would have to contact the owner. Instead, we were handed a gift card for a future visit — which we have no intention of using.
The overall service at this location has completely gone downhill. The atmosphere feels off, the staff seem frustrated, and management appears indifferent. It honestly feels like the owners no longer care about this location, and it makes you wonder if it’s on the verge of closing.
This is especially disappointing because we used to love coming here with our kids. Unfortunately, the last several visits have been consistently bad — and it’s not just us. Many of our friends have had similar experiences.

Very disappointing experience here. The restaurant was almost empty, but they still tried to seat us right beside a big group for no reason. After sitting down, we waited over half an hour before anyone even came to take our order. Then they forgot to bring cutlery, so our food arrived and we had nothing to use.
The worst part — there was hair on the plate with our pizza. We showed it to them, and the response was very careless. No proper apology, nothing. They gave a very small discount and acted like they were doing us a favour instead of fixing the issue properly.
Overall the service was slow, careless, and unprofessional. Really not what we expected.

Food quality and quantity is getting bad to worse. Ordered cactus cut two times and both times it came out like hard nuts to crack. Spoke with the staff about it, stated 3rd time it’ll be the same.

We visited on Saturday, Jan.24 at 5:30pm. The hostess and manager in the lobby were friendly and sat us right away (table of 5). The busy atmosphere and chatter of people at their tables was nice. We only had an hour before we needed to leave for the Abbotsford Canucks game but our server Saanjh was very friendly and when we asked if we could order drinks and food all at once so we could make the game, she made it happen. Her ability to remember all of our orders without writing them down really impressed us. She even repeated our orders back to ensure she had it all correct, and she did. I had the clubhouse and Caesar salad, my husband ordered the chicken tacos, the kids ordered pizza, chicken strips and yam fries. The food was all pretty good, but the tacos left a lot to be desired. They sounded great on the menu, but when they arrived there wasn’t much to them – however we didn’t want to complain. Saanjh brought us refills on our drinks and offered us dessert to go since we needed to leave and catch the game. I’d like to visit again soon.

I dont dine In here often mostly order for delivery gotta say though this pizza i got (the royal Hawaiian) was amazing perfect cook, cool ingredients combo highly recommend.

This is by far the best Boston Pizza I have ever been to. My Love and I came here the other day, I was having a rough day so we decided to go out for supper and just relax. Our meals were amazing. We always share everything, we got: French fries with dill dip, smokey mountain spaghetti and meat balls (cheese baked), and a large caesar salad. Everything was perfect and came out quickly. My love got a beer and I got a coffee. Not only did I get a coffee, but I got a kettle of coffee on the side without asking for it. That brings me to the next thing, our server JOSH was probably the best server both of us have ever had anywhere. He was attentive, friendly and quick. I was having a really rough day when I walked in tonhave supper, when I left I was having a great night with my love. Thank you guys so much, I cant wait to come back here. You made a bad day less hard to take ♡

We recently had a team dinner at Boston Pizza at Sumas. The manager was very helpful, responsive and friendly and helped organize dinner for a large group and easy pre-order options. This is the pudding that comes with a to go order of “worms and dirt” in a kids meal. For a place with $40 pizzas and a guaranteed $120 minimum spend for a small family, I don’t actually feel that it’s unreasonable to expect that there is not a thriving bacterial mold culture in the food. What is happening to these businesses? Zero quality with record profits.
