Here is what was included + my tasting notes..
• Shrimp + Melon Salad – Light, bold, insanely good combo.
• Chipotle Lime Picanha Steak – Smoky, juicy, perfect.
– Grilled Corn Salad – Fresh, vibrant, tons of flavor (chilled so it was perfect for a warm summer day).
– Summer Squash Medley – Cool, crisp, that cilantro vinaigrette slapped.
• Berry Pound Cake – Orange curd + mascarpone whip? Say less.
Every bite was bold, fresh, and perfectly layered.
The owner personally picked out a glass of wine for me that paired so well it felt custom-made for me based on my original selection. That kind of care? Fantastic!
And let’s talk about Chloe – our waitress. She was warm, sharp, and made the whole experience feel intimate and special. Like we weren’t just another table.
The ambiance?
Dark. Moody. Understated.
The kind of place that doesn’t scream, but seduces. You feel like you’re in on a secret the rest of Tulsa hasn’t discovered yet.
Boston Deli is a Tulsa community vibe – and the food is next level! I would recommend dinner service for the Chef Special for anyone looking for the perfect date-night or to get their belly FULL.
I look forward to going back and trying some of the desserts.
What a treat!
We arrived almost exactly at noon. The interior occupies a corner building and has two entries, one operates as a market while the other is the deli/restaurant. The deli side is rather straightforward: self-serve beverage station, standard lighting with sufficient windows that invites just enough sun inside, a pastry stand at the checkout station, a mix of tables and booths. I ordered the Applewood Smoked Roast Beef Sandwich with the Asparagus Soup (soup of the day). She ordered the Applewood Roasted Beef Au Jus (which I was jealous of). It wasn’t crowded, being Monday, so we sat in a booth after we ordered. The food didn’t take long at all, 10 minutes MAXIMUM, and came out steaming! I dug into the soup first, which I wish I would’ve gotten the bowl instead of the cup because I’m not much of an asparagus fan but the soup convinced me otherwise. No distinct flavor but it was thick, smooth and tee’d up the sandwich as it should. The Roast Beef sandwich was great! A good balance of ingredients and the bread, soft, toasted and buttered, made for a perfect finish. Unfortunately I didn’t get to try my friend’s Au Jus Roast Beef sandwich but it will not escape me next time! Even though we didn’t need or see much of her, our server Sarah) was great by taking our order, bringing us refills, and processing the check. Overall, I couldn’t have chosen a better place to check-in on our lunch break.
You can enjoy elaborate meal for lunch as much as you’d like but at the end of the day, there’s nothing more nostalgic or fulfilling like having a classic sandwich, pastry and soup for lunch. If you only care about efficient service and getting a great value for your buck, I’d suggest Boston Deli if you’re in the area!
The sandwich did NOT disappoint!!
