It blows my mind that 2 sides of fries cost $17?? How is this portion size even worth $17?? They do taste good but not worth 17 bucks unfortunately

My husband and I love Boro Bourbon & Brews Grill! We drive 30 minutes from Nashville just to spend time here—and it’s always worth it. From the moment you walk in, you feel like part of the family. We were recently greeted by the owners, Trent and Aubrey, and even had the pleasure of sitting at the bar and having a great conversation with them.

This place truly feels like your classic neighborhood bar—warm, welcoming, and full of good vibes. If you’re local and haven’t been yet… what are you waiting for? And if you’re not local (like us), it’s 100% worth the drive. Trust me—you’ll be back.

They have live music, a fantastic menu, and a warm and inviting atmosphere. We had the wings—lemon pepper and bourbon glaze (both amazing!)—but honestly, everything on the menu looked great.

We joked that if we lived closer, my husband might just become their version of Norm from Cheers!

Don’t miss this gem!

I was REALLY excited for this place but as it sits today after my first visit, I’m just a little disappointed. I would like to try again in a while but we’ll see.

Went in on Sunday afternoon, it was dead except for people at the bar. We seated ourselves and initially got quick service. However service dwindled, even with no increased patronage, so we paid and left.

Ordered the fries, beer Mac and cheese, and a few cocktails (alcohol and non alcoholic). The fries were absolutely fantastic. Best fries in town if I had to bet on it. However, the Mac and cheese was lukewarm and felt like it was terribly microwaved before it hit my plate and table. Extremely disappointed.

As for service, our server was mostly absent. Sat at a table with coworkers folding napkins and utensils for 20 minutes without checking on us while complaining about coworkers to other coworkers. Then retreated to be back for another 5 and finally came to check on us, at which point I cashed out and left instead of spending more money like I planned.

Atmosphere was good. It’s nice, has a live music stage, and a good amount of TVs for football. A good Sunday afternoon spot I’d say..assuming service is better. Unfortunately the atmosphere is deteriorated by what appeared to be a regular patron or two that accosted the staff, was pretty belligerent and pretty rude. Should I return and this person is here, it’s an absolute no go. The establishment should ask him to leave after he clearly has had enough yet.. he’s still being served.

I’ll try it again in the future but I’ll wait until maybe it hits its 12 month mark before I come back to ensure it’s established and the staff issues have been worked out.

We walked in and received immediate service. The owner and the chef was there and they were fun and convivial. Two in my party ordered a special which was a Chicken Philly Steak. They were very good and they would order them again. I had the Berry Salad. It contained strawberries, blueberries, and blackberries. It also had the freshest romaine lettuce, sliced almonds, and cheese. I added grilled shrimp. Awesome food! I loved the onion rings, French fries, and sweet potato pies. The chef made a sauce for the sweet potato pies that was delicious. We tried to get the ingredients from him but he laughingly said homemade whipped cream, cinnamon, and love. The decor was comfy and casual. We played shut the box until our food arrived. We would definitely eat there again.

You really can’t do better than this place. Came on a Sunday night before Memorial day. They had all the side doors open and the weather was perfect. Had a band playing, delicious drinks flowing and friendly servers. Then I ordered the Bourbon glazed salmon, and it was amazing. Totally unexpected for what we thought was just a bar. Great job BB&B!

The best place on the square, hands down! Burgers are amazing, curds rock, drinks are phenomenal, the staff is attentive, and the music line up is always solid. Also a great place to go and watch games on Saturday and Sundays!

Great bartender, great atmosphere, but food was not worth the price! This is a good spot for drinks with friends and maybe some appetizers but not dinner. We came here because our usual spot was too busy. We found space at the bar & ordered drinks. They don’t have a big beer selection but makes sense! They have TONS of great cocktails, though. We ordered Macncheese and a burger. The Macncheese was mushy with shredded Colby jack cheese on top that wasn’t even melted! It looked like something I would whip up at home because I’m not a chef. The chicken on top was very dry. Still tasted great, but just not worth $17. My partner ordered the burger medium rare and said that he felt it was not cooked enough and he got a very small portion of fries. He felt that the $20 for his meal would have been worth it if he had a normal portion of fries. We didn’t want to complain to the staff, because our bartender was really cool & kind. We also weren’t looking to get anything discounted. Just wanted to leave an honest review.

Gave Boro Bourbon & Brews a shot for the first time with my wife. We order cheese curds for an appetizer. She got a plain burger (she doesn’t like toppings) and I ordered the Philly cheese steak sandwich. Both orders came with fries and we both had water to drink.

Dylan was our server. We sat ourselves at a table in the back near the restrooms and had our drinks received and app order placed within 15 minutes of arriving. We got there close to 5pn and it wasn’t busy inside.

The cheese curds arrived hot with a side of marinara sauce. They are decent, but I wouldn’t call them cheese curds. It’s just mini fried mozzarella bites. They’re very (and I mean VERY) greasy.

My wife ordered her burger well done (you can have your burgers cooked to order, which I really like). There was still a little bit of pink in the middle but not enough for her to send back. It definitely had a char grilled flavor and tasted fresh (I had a bite). She’s not the biggest fan of char grilled flavor so if you’re not either, you may not like their burgers. But objectively speaking, they’re good quality.

My Philly cheese steak sandwich was the best part of my dining experience here. The meat was savory and juicy, the bread was slightly toasted on the outside but still soft with a nice chew. I didn’t change anything about how it comes (provolone cheese, peppers and onions) and these ingredients really enhanced the power house of flavor that this sandwich delivers.

The fries that came with both of our meals definitely tasted fresh. I’m not sure what they’re seasoned with, but it definitely has a mild, sweetness to it (maybe a barbecue seasoning). Again, my main gripe is how greasy they were, same as the cheese curds.

Lastly, you’ll be given the option to pay your bill with cash or card, with card being slightly more. I’ve seen this before back north where I’m from, but hardly ever around here. If you wanna save a buck, bring cash lol.

Overall, not a bad place. I won’t be running back here anytime soon, but definitely not going to stay away either.

Had lunch Sunday I had the Philly cheesesteak. The flavor was good but was definitely lacking with the meat. I used to cheesesteaks being loaded with meat. The queso cheese was awesome. Fried pickles were good. Fries had good flavor. Chicken club my wife had was good.

This place does so many things right, I thought very hard before submitting this review.

We have been coming since it opened but before they even had the bourbon license to go with the name. The staff are very attentive and helpful, they get eclectic but talented music acts you won’t see here or even in Nashville on the regular, and the people we meet there are wonderful and varied.

The food and drink menus are solid. Great pours of drinks and snacks and mains that satisfy. I particularly like the proportionality and flavors of the Chips and Queso and Fried Cheese Curds!

Where the rub is:
This place has not invested or made plans to keep the temperature comfortable for patrons. My wife and I are very different resting temperatures, and both of us end up sweating , stuck to seats, and feeling very little air flow from the scattered fans and open windows. I love a beach/streetside open air bar as much as the next guy, but it helps if I am expecting that and prepared for it every time. Compared to the few other options around the square, it falls so short and distracts from so many things the staff does well to not have a decent temperature control inside.

The only other thing that I’ve noticed that is not great, is when off duty staff are taking up paying bar seats near the kitchen. It’s fine if it’s slow and not a big deal if those are paid seats, but as busy as this awesome place gets on a weekend or game night, it feels more appropriate that limited space is available for patrons.

Overall: A great and ambitious place with great things to try, dedicated staff serving you, and a fun atmosphere of people you can enjoy getting to know. As they continue to improve, I am sure it will become a well earned standby of the square and community for decades to come.
