Wow, I honestly don’t really know what to say. I’ve never had Korean food like this. I thought I’ve had everything that Korean food could offer living in ktown. But I was very wrong. This place felt like I just went to my Korean cousins house and his aunt just served us dinner. Not really sure how else to explain it. It was quite a unique experience, and you might be alone by the price, but do not fear. It is very filling and quite unique to say the least.

Truly one of the best meals I’ve had in my life. This is on par with what I’ve had in Jeju and even better than food I’ve had in Seoul. Service was warm and friendly as well. Only thing to take note is that the servings are HUGE and you need to order one set per person. The amount and quality of food is totally worth the price you pay for.

Time of visit – 11am Wednesday

Order – course meal ($35 per person) at least 2 people needed. Would not recommend this place if you intend to dine alone. Portions are large.

Food – every single dish reminds me of rural South Korea. I loved every single dish down to the last drop of plum dessert drink. If you haven’t had food from rural Korea, you may find the food here bland with unfamiliar flavors so this place cannot be enjoyed by everyone. But if you remember the taste of grandma cooking back in Korea you would love this place.

Service is excellent when the place is not full of people. The most popular menu item is the course meal so expect delays when the place is packed.

I’m glad I tried it, but don’t feel compelled to visit again. We arrived just past noon and our rice arrived room temp, our soups quickly reached room temp, and the entire meal felt very rushed and not particularly special given the high cost/person. As mentioned previously, the food quality reminded me of a Korean school cafeteria! That said, the ladies who work there are very kind and nice. Parking in the small shared lot behind the restaurant can be a challenge.

I was really excited to try this place after seeing it all over social media and YouTube. Overall, I’d give it a 3/5. The service and atmosphere were great, but when it came down to the main reason we came—to enjoy the food—it fell short considering the price.

We ordered the 보리밥정식 set at $34.99 per person, which came with a variety of side dishes and porridge. I knew it would be centered around side dishes, but nothing really stood out or left a lasting impression.

For two people, the total came to about $77 before tip, and roughly $93 after. For that price, it feels like a bit of a splurge for what you get—I think you’d get a more satisfying meal (and value) at a Korean BBQ spot for around the same cost.

Been here a few times and always order the set menu with barley rice — such a memorable experience with a feast of banchan, warming soups, and even the cutest dessert plates! The environment also mirrors the food experience, so many traditional Korean details everywhere. Only downsides are the often rude service and high prices but the food quality makes up for anything!

My friends wanted to try authentic Korean food, so we went to Borit Gogae, which had a 4.3 Google rating. The restaurant is spacious, decorated with traditional Korean items, and even has goods available for purchase. For dinner, we ordered the “Banchan” set with barley rice ($29.99 per person), which included soybean soup and chicken soup. We also had to order a meat or fish dish separately, so we went with the LA Kalbi and yellow corvina. Unfortunately, the banchan and both soups were very bland—I didn’t eat them. The Kalbi was tasty, but the corvina was so nasty I couldn’t finish even one bite. The service was good, but overall, I wouldn’t return.

Service is amazing and the food was filling. Honestly the set between 2 people was extremely filling – if you get another dish in addition to the set, you’ll definitely have leftovers.

Second time visiting today. There is a wow factor when you go the first time because of the way dishes are presented. But nothing to rave about. You would think soybean soup is a korean staple and can’t mess up, but was so bland and diluted with water. And tofu cut to micro cubes. I eat very bland but this was just flavorless. Almost thought due to inflation are they saving their denjang to stretch as much as possible! And the chicken stew is grits plus some chicken legs thrown in. Even grits out of the box is gritty and souplike. Today’s was off like diluted reheated grits as it was watery creamy with chicken fat on top. My son loved the grits/soup the first time but wouldn’t eat this time. Order Kalbi on the side and was still pink inside. Banchans were all flavorless. But when mixed as bibimbap was edible and good. But better tasting it at LA’s Gallerias Mall Market. Every banchan there is superior. If you dont know where the good banchan is then for non Koreans this would be a good introduction and place to experience home like cooking minus some flavor. For 2 adults and 1 child bill was $150. Would I go back? No. But if I had guest in town would take just for the experience of many dishes. If restaurant reading this review those deep fried kimchi chuns are a waste of table space. Better off with regular kimchi, or vegetable chun. Yet for $35/ person can do shrimp or seafood pancakes. Inflation making it difficult for businesses, but cutting corners by diluting customers dont go back and get 0 business.
