A group os us (all family members) came in on a busy Saturday night for small plates, lots of fun drinks, and plenty of chit chat. The staff was great! Very attentive and friendly. The plates we ordered would be made and come out in relatively quick time and were all piping hot and fresh too.

We enjoyed their menu, they have all the items you’d expect from a Spanish tapas place. We tried many items, some standouts were:
• the Jamón Ibérico de Bellota, along with the Aged Manchego
• their Gambas al ajillo had a great sauce, though I do wish the dish was spicier
• Montado de Bistec y Chorizo was really tasty!
• Their Mariscos Paella was spot on! The texture of the rice was exactly what it should be (and what I crave when desiring paella) and all the seafood in it was fresh and very nicely done.
I will say the flavor of the Pan Con Tomate had a nice flavor and the color was great, but it was way too soggy. We’ve had this (tomato bread) many times in Spain and it was never this soggy.

The venue is nicely laid out to accommodate small and large groups. Their sangria was so very good that we ordered a few pitchers! We even enjoyed sharing the porrón along with a nice Spanish white wine.

Definitely would return!

There’s a vibe here for SURE! We came on a Tuesday night (before the government shutdown of 2025) and it was PACKED! The music was awesome & the service was excellent! The food was hood to us but I can see some people maybe not liking some of it because it’s not your usual serving sizes. It’s Tapas, which is like appetizer size and most of them were great. Here’s the breakdown:
– Pan con tomate – A no-go. It literally tastes like wet bread with tomato
– Ensalada Cesar – Good but a bit dry (large portion)
– Croquetas Jamon – Okay but a very small piece of ham inside & not what we expected, at all. The puree lost us
– Choripan – Very good tastes like the real Choripans
– Calamares – Great & tasty
– Coca de Costillas – Very good & tasty flatbread
Overall, there’s a lot of ham in the menu so if you’re not a pork eater, beware. The drinks were great!

We got 6 things for 2 people and we’re stuffed, the Brussels sprouts and the shrimps were our favorite. The carrots and croquettes were also very good (were sweet tooth’s). The Mac and cheese wasn’t the best but still decent, and for dinner we had tea the olive oil cake which was so good!

We came in for brunch and had a great experience. Our server was informative and attentive. We enjoyed the brunch feast, it was fun sampling many different plates. Everything was delicious. For 30$ each we left with leftovers and were stuffed. I’d love to come back again and try the regular chefs tasting too.

The atmosphere was modern, and the outdoor seating filled up quickly. The happy hour (4–6 PM) offered a great selection, and overall, the food was delicious. However, the paella we had today was a bit disappointing, as the bottom was burnt and some of the rice was undercooked. It would also be nice if there were more mocktail options available for those who don’t drink alcohol.

This restaurant offers an exceptional dining Our experience at the restaurant was truly exceptional. Our server, Mauricio, skillfully guided us through a culinary journey that showcased delicate and layered flavors, diverse textures, and freshly prepared dishes. The tapas were a delightful surprise, and the paella was the star of the meal. To our delight, we finished with choros and a chocolate torta, which made for a lovely ending.

We opted for the chef’s menu, which might be challenging for those with a limited appetite. The portion sizes were just right, although we ended up with leftovers. Unfortunately, we couldn’t give the seafood paella the attention it deserved because we were so full by that point. It was also a bit on the dry side, which could be part of the standard preparation method.

My top picks are the ATún Canario (amazing new flavor) the Gambas Al Ajillo, and the Croquetas De Setas.

Please refer to the marked menu for the items we ordered from the chef’s menu. Mauricio demonstrated remarkable expertise in accommodating our dietary restrictions, as we don’t eat pork. We highly recommend visiting this restaurant again.

We opted to choose from the Tapas lunch menu for 2. It was fabulous. The flavors are on point. Def a place to go and grab a bite. We each had a different margarita, both of which were great as well.

We went for a casual dinner at Boqueria Dupont Circle, a place we’ve been visiting for years and easily our favorite Spanish restaurant in DC. We walked in without a reservation and were seated quickly.

We started with the charcuterie and artisanal cheese board. Our server guided us through the different cheeses and cured meats, and the selections were excellent. Everything was flavorful, and well balanced.

For tapas, we ordered pan con tomate, mushroom croquetas, and patatas bravas; all delicious!!! The pan con tomate was simple but perfectly done, the croquetas were creamy and full of flavor, and the patatas bravas had the right balance of crispiness and sauce. We also finished with calamari and more croquetas, which are honestly our favorite dish here.

To top it off, we shared the seafood paella. We were already full by then and ended up taking some home, but it was well-seasoned, and packed with flavor.

For drinks, we had both white and red sangria, plus my husband’s favorite, a Negroni Blanco.

The service was attentive and efficient throughout the evening, and the restaurant felt very clean. The atmosphere feels good, which is something we always appreciate. The tables can feel a bit small with tables close together when you order several tapas, but nothing that takes away from the experience.

Overall, Boqueria Dupont Circle continues to be one of our go-to spots for Spanish food in DC. Five stars for the food and service, and we’ll definitely keep coming back.

Visited on a pleasantly busy Friday night and sat at the bar. I could tell I was in for a treat and wish I would have started the night here. The bartender was lovely and helped me immediately as I sat down with menus and water. The drink was refreshing and not too strong with each ingredient described being identifiable. The two menu items I got were equally delicious.
Cannot wait to return with a group of friends to try as many dishes as possible! Will be returning.
