The waitress was awesome. Gave us a bit of a history lesson and the famous people that are forever linked to the original Boot Co company. The food was on point and perfect for the price. I literally cleaned my plate. Tea was also great and decided to take a cup to go. Will definitely come back to try other menu items.

Quirky decor and hole-in-the-wall dining. Service was excellent as always and my favorite dish was the smothered grilled chicken. The mushrooms were a little heavy on the breading, but good. Mashed potatoes were creamy, delish and prepared skin on, the best!

Excellent service. The atmosphere is what one would expect from a small town, Texas restaurant. The service was very friendly. The chicken fried chicken and steak were great, and the green beans were good, not the typical overcooked in bacon water. White and brown gravies were good and not thick and over cooked. On the next visit, we had burgers and a couple of appetizers. Burgers were overcooked, but I will accept responsibility as I didn’t make a request for medium rare. Appetizers were deep-fried Jalapeños and mushrooms. Jalapeños were pickled slices breaded, and I would not recommend them. Mushrooms were way overcooked.
Finally, the beer was cold.

This was a first for my family and I, and I do have to say the food was quite good, the service was good, the decor is sort of like an antique feel. All in all it was a good experience but there is not much to choose from when it comes to the side dishes on the menu, so be aware. And remember the only way you’ll know if you like, you gotta just try it

My supervisor and I enjoy eating at locally-owned small businesses when out for lunch. We pulled up to this joint due to it’s 4.5 rating & being 200 ft from us … as we parked and I jokingly said,”Man! That CAN’T be the front door!”.
Food was great, and so was the staff! I really enjoyed my fried shrimp platter, my co-worker enjoyed his cat fish platter & my boss enjoyed his bacon cheese burger. Each plate at our table was served with fries, looked incredible and was on our table top within 15 min after ordering.
The building was owned by Rio Boots Company since 1925, and the Boot Co. has been around for 16 years. I’m excited to bring my family members here next weekend!

I came to purchase car scents & ended up ordering food to go. While I waited for my order, I sat down with my child & enjoyed looking at all their antique decor that we ended up staying and eating in. The food is delicious & a good portion is served. The staff is extremely nice. I’m happy I was brought here due to wanting scents for my car. I will be back in the future.

Boot co. Was an alright place to eat. Nothing special nothing too bad. The place looked closed until I pasted by again and saw the door cracked. The owner or manager would do well to put on open sign or some lighting outside to show that they were open. Even possibly opening the door and putting a sign out or something. The decor is very fun and inviting and very interesting to look at and to read some of the articles.
My initial impression of the wait staff is that they were quick and responsive however my opinion changed later when they given our meal and not checked on again for about 15 minutes or more while we sat with empty drinks. There wasn’t even anybody around that I could ask for anything as as everybody I assume was in the back. I was even mean mugged by one of the cooks that came in to clock in them on one of the POS’s.
I ordered the appetizer texas toothpicks, It was very good; and even though it was jalapeno, it had no heat to it unfortunately, but the breading was fried very crispy and not soggy at all.
I then ordered the chicken fried steak. It was very bland with no seasoning whatsoever. The breading was light and crispy and to my liking but in no way made up for how bland the steak was. I don’t even think that they used salt and pepper on it. This item needs to be re-hauled in order to be good. I poured there house branded pepper sauce on it and it made it edible. The sides we’re also decent but forgettable.
My overall impression of the meal was not good. It was very unforgivable and how bland and forgettable the chicken fried steak was. I didn’t even want to finish it It was just not good.
I also ordered the catfish and shrimp. Somehow the shrimp were overcooked and the fish was undercooked and raw. I got two pieces of catfish one of them was cooked all right the other one was completely raw. This is extremely unforgivable for a restaurant. You may not make food that taste good but you should always make food that is safe to eat.
As I understand it this is a local establishment but I promise you I’ll never come back to this place. Any travelers looking for a place to eat might want to check elsewhere.
