So disappointed. Two of us were served the wrong main courses which we sent back and 20 minutes later when our friends had all finished theirs we were told they had no more duck. I said I would eat the meal they had taken away and they brought it back cold on a cold skillet(this was supposed to be a sizzling dish) I couldn’t believe it. We couldn’t believe how we had been treated. The waitress looked very upset so dont know what the owner had said to her. When we went to settle the bill and asked to speak to the owner there was no apology and all she said when I paid the bill was you dont have to come back.

We recently visited Boona Thai Abergavenny and it truly lived up to all the amazing things people say about it. From the moment you walk in, you’re made to feel genuinely welcome – every member of staff is friendly, attentive, and clearly passionate about what they do. The atmosphere is relaxed and inviting, making it the perfect place to enjoy a meal with friends or family.
The food is absolutely outstanding – beautifully presented, full of flavour, and clearly made with fresh, high-quality ingredients. Every dish we tried was packed with authentic Thai flavours and cooked to perfection. It’s easy to see why so many people rave about this place.
What really sets Boona Thai apart, though, is the team. The staff go above and beyond to make sure you have a fantastic experience, offering great recommendations and service with a smile throughout. It’s rare to find a restaurant where both the food and the hospitality are this consistently excellent. I really enjoyed my meal! I had a take away portion of Pad Thai, it was prepared while I waited in under 15 minutes. The restaurant had a lovely atmosphere, located at the top of the stairs, and I hope to return to eat in soon. (I visited on a Thursday at about 8pm.)

I’m writing this as I am sat in this fine establishment. It is my first time here and I am amazed at the quality of the food. On top of that the service is incredible, fast, efficient and polite. The restaurant itself is beautifully decorated and overall atmosphere is inviting and relaxed. I’d invite everyone to dine at this amazing family owned restaurant. In my opinion the best in Abergavenny. On top of that you can bring your own booze!

Always friendly staff and amazing food. Authentic Thai cuisine with a great variety and cater to everyone’s level of spice tolerance. It’s byob, which is really good as you know you’ll be able to drink what you like.
Would highly recommend the soups and any of the dishes with duck.
