I loved the basil eggplant with shrimp — wonderful savory flavor and textures. We got the hor mok, a fish custard, which had a slight coconut flavor and a nice texture. The pork and crab nuggets had a nice crispy exterior and were packed with meat. The mok nor mai (bamboo pork soup) was pungent but quite tasty and full of tasty ingredients.
There’s a lot on the menu that I still want to try, but I don’t think you can go wrong here! Looking forward to my next visit.
The spicy peanut noodles had the perfect kick and a deep, nutty flavor.
Chicken satay was tender with that smoky char and creamy peanut sauce.
From the specials, the Panang curry stood out — rich, aromatic, and perfectly balanced.
Everything tasted fresh and well-seasoned, with real care in the cooking.
Definitely a hidden gem I’d go back to for another meal.
BoonNoon Market is an unassuming, hole-in-the-wall restaurant/take-out place…but don’t pass it by, it’s one of Arlington’s best kept secrets!
The food is authentic and flavorful…transporting me back to once upon a time when I lived in Thailand for two months, watching my life flash before my eyes in those tuk-tuks, exploring the Bangkok night markets, and buying street food in plastic bags, sealed with a rubber band from the man hunched over a wok at the street corner.
I have yet to try everything on the menu, but my go-to dishes are the Panang Pork Curry and Moo Honk! My go-to apps are the wings zab, chive cakes, and shrimp donuts.
The restaurant is very clean, offering 7 small tables, outdoor seating (weather permitting), and a small area of Thai-imported snacks and goods. Plan accordingly if you want to dine-in, as the tables fill up quickly! If you order take-out, order online first.
Very highly recommend BoonNoon Market, and excited to support and see this small business succeed!! Be sure to say hello to Jeep, the owner, and tell him Melly sent you!
The chef/owner is so sweet and friendly, and really goes out of his way to deliver an amazing experience of home and good, fresh food. This place values providing great experiences over appealing to a mass market. Which in my book is a win to any local business – food worth trying and a story worth telling!
