We were looking for a place for a quick lunch close to where we had a meeting. We had a group of 5 and Boondocks is just what we wanted. The service was good, the atmosphere is casual and the food was incredibly good. Everyone liked what they had and my shrimp and grits were delicious.

Honestly I’ve had better Cajun flavor from LJS. The crawfish Shirley is a little cheesy. Husband ordered chicken fried chicken and said it tasted like Tyson’s patties. His mashed potatoes were very thin. My margarita was very sweet. I ordered frozen which they obviously had to use a blender but my cup was half ice chunks. This was definitely not a $62 dining experience. We could’ve gone to Red Lobster, spent the same amount of money and known what to expect with the food.

Came here for lunch yesterday for the first time. Food was 100% on point. Fried green tomatoes were tart and tangy, paired with the remoulade sauce made for the perfect bite. Our server was also top notch. Very engaging and attentive. Great atmosphere as well. Overall a great southern food experience. Will definitely be back.

First time eater…long time listener lol. Was a little skeptical of the thin cut onion rings, but the were hand breaded, very crisp, & not greasy. Kind of like the old shoe string potatoes – only much better! Crystal C. (name on ticket, hope this was my server’s name) was polite and professional with just the right amount of charm to make me want to return.

The drinks were strong but not chilled. We had to put ice in our drinks. The service and food were good. The rice was somewhat watery in the chicken chipolte bowl but still tasted good. The meat fell off the bones on the rack of ribs.
I liked the fact that we could bring our dog and eat outside on the patio.

Service was great, waitress very nice and professional, food was great and plentiful with great flavor. I had Breaux Bridge with blackened catfish on bed of covered in crawfish etouffe with hush puppies and Cajun corn, it was delicious and close to authentic, I’ve had crawfish ettouffe made by a NOLA Chef and was a 7 of 10 to his but it was good. My wife had fish with grilled zucchini and broccoli and hush puppies and she loved it. Kids chicken and fries and chicken and mac and cheese it came with a rice crispy treat, tenders were tender and flavorful and Mac and cheese looked homemade. Wife and I had tall Michelob ultra, coldest tap beer I’ve ever had! First time to go there and will definitely go back!

The atmosphere in this place was very inviting, clean, and all around comfortable. Any game you wanted to watch was on any one of many tvs. The staff was extremely accommodating and friendly. Our waitress explained everything we asked about the menu, and made us feel at home. Food was delicious, and will be one of our meal stops, when we come back up this way!

First time here and LOVED it! Such a cute and fun date night. Live band, pool table, darts, basketball, looks like they had a full bar as well. Most places I go to when I ask for rare steak always overcook it, but they did it just right! Also the pretzel bites were DELICIOUS! May be better than auntie Anne’s….

I’m so glad that we gave Boondocks a try! We went for lunch, and it wasn’t too busy at all. The service was quick and friendly (virtually no wait time at all for our food!), and the food was all very memorable and tasty! My wife had a Shrimp Po’ Boy with red beans & rice and I had the Crawfish Shirley over noodles with some hush puppies and jambalaya as sides. My wife was very pleased with all that she had (I tried some of her red beans & rice and they were tasty), and I was super pleased with all that I ordered too! All of the dishes were pretty much exactly what I was hoping for (and the Crawfish Shirley, though I’d never had the dish before, was pleasantly un-fishy too, which I haven’t always learned to expect from crawfish dishes). I’ll definitely be coming back. Well done, Boondocks!

Quickly seated, food took a while to come out but once we got it, it was well worth the wait. Our waitress pretty much disappeared once we got our food. We waited an hour after finishing our food for our ticket to pay because our waitress just didn’t come back.
