I debated leaving a review. But since I’m pretty sure I’m sick today from this restaurant I thought I would.

We were greeted walking in and an empty table was pointed out for us, that was great.

We sat down, drink orders were taken. When the drinks came I could not gag down the sweet tea. It had a moldy taste to it so I asked if we could swap it for root beer. That was done but the root beer still had the faint mold taste. My husband said his pepsi did as well.

We ordered. About 15 minutes later the waitress brought the side of coleslaw. So we sat waiting for the rest of the food which didn’t come for almost 40 minutes. Half the food was cold, the rest warm. Then we noticed my husband ordered chicken tenders, but was brought burnt chicken bites.
We ate all of our food then sat waiting for the waitress to come back to point out the wrong food. She never came back. She never refilled drinks, asked how the food was, nothing. About 30 minutes later we see her cleaning bathrooms.
That’s when we decided to pay and leave. They did comp the tenders and told us they told the waitress to ask us if chicken bites was an okay substitute, she did not.

It seems this type of service happens frequently judging by other reviews. I’m also convinced the drink machines are not getting cleaned since tea and soda usually don’t come from the same machine and are made differently so there’s no reason they both should have the same gross after taste.

The best diner breakfast I’ve had in a long time! Yum.

I had the veggie omelette which won me over on the very first bite. The hash browns were done perfectly. Coffee was tasty and plentiful.

The atmosphere takes you right back to the golden days of American diners, the 50s.

Service was prompt and friendly.

Those young ladies are wonderful!! They did an amazing job taking care of customers and their attitude and smiles were contagious while doing so.. I overheard other customers laugh with the young ladies which made the room light hearted!! Even with one pregnant she literally up the room with her smile!! Next time I’m in town I’ll stop in!

First time here and I was disappointed. Had the omelet and an order of biscuits with gravy. Not a fan of their gravy, had no taste and bland. Quiet with no radio or such on at the time. Might try a burger next time.

Customer service is not so good. The little Gen Z has a little bit of attitude. I guess she did not like it when I said I needed a little time to choose the food I wanted to order. So an older lady came a bit later to get my order. And then Gen Z brought my cole slaw, she turned her back first and then said “Enjoy”. When I got my bill it was only about $19 so I ordered a to-go coconut fried pie which was about $5 I gave the older lady $30 and said “I don’t need change” but she came back with $1 and some coins so I was surprised that she gave me change so I thought I needed to put more money for tips, she saw that I have the surprised look on my face and she said “Do you want me to give your $5 back and kind of telling me that she took the $5 and the $1 and coins are my change. So I told her “I don’t need change”. And she apologized and told me she misunderstood me. By the way, the mashed potatoes were alright not the best. The cole slaw tasted old. The fried fish is alright but I would not order it again. The hush puppies are the only I could say I liked it but you only get two, I wish I would have just ordered hush puppies.

Must see restaurant in Guthrie. Portions are huge, food is delicious, and service was great. The classic Hollywood decor elevated the diner atmosphere. Going back tomorrow before we leave town.

I’d been wanting to check out this place for awhile and today we had time and so we went in. I thought it only had parallel parking on the west side but it turned out that it was located in the corner of the building it’s in and so there is more parking on the north side where the front door turned out to be.

Walking in it looked like a small 50’s diner with oldies playing music over the speakers. There were pictures all over the walls of old movies and actors. Even the restrooms had signs up: “T-Birds” for the men and “Pink ladies” for the womens.

We sat ourselves down at a table and a waitress immediately came to get our drink orders. We both ordered sweet teas and she handed us paper menus filled with options. On the back is a kids menu and a place for kids to play. The teas took awhile as they were having to make more.

I ordered the Chicken Fried Steak dinner with mashed potatoes, gravy and Texas toast and my husband ordered Hamburger steak with mashed potatoes and Texas toast. Both of the meals came with small salads.

When the food arrived, it was bigger than the plate! My Chicken fried steak looked huge, it was once I was cutting into it where I found that most all of it was crust. My husband liked his Hamburger steak and couldn’t finish his potatoes before he was full. It was all delicious though besides all the crusts.

The waitress never came back to check on drinks or see how we were doing. She showed back up at the end to ask if she could clear our table and we asked for more drinks in to go cups.

Well now I can say I’ve come and experienced this Boomerang, not sure if I’d come back but maybe to try other things on the menu.

The waitress was smiling and patient. Chicken fried steak was just right ! It came with fries or mashed potatoes, cole slaw or salad. Average to better than average prices.

We ventured in for breakfast one day, and enjoyed it so much that we ate there again the next day. The food was delicious and well made, and the service was on point. Everyone was welcoming. We really enjoyed the look of the place, as well. Lots of fun photos of celebrities from the 30s through the 60s.
