The hot Cheeto boudin balls are not it! The cheese really just kills the entire boudin ball. I can’t taste anything else but the old tasting cheese. It’s more cheese than boudin and that’s not right. Eeeeyuck! The boudin balls taste old and like they were made weeks ago. I make better boudin balls than this and I would be able to actually taste the hot Cheeto crust. I’m so disappointed.. Catfish plate was good.. fries need to be crispy but they were soggy. Separation and preparation would do wonders here.

I finally got a chance to visit and it was a mixed bag. First and foremost, the food was amazing. I got the platter so I could get a lil bit of everything (wings, catfish (real catfish), Hot Cheetos balls, etc). 5 stars hands down.
Now the not so amazing… service was spotty. There were 2 waitresses. They both were nice and pleasant ladies. The only small area of improvement would be regular check-ins with the table. There was a bad smell (maybe sewage issue) they were masking with candles that didn’t fit the ambiance. On a positive note the music playlist was vibing.
All of this is acknowledging that this is a new location also.

I had my book release event at BoomShack Dallas and we had an AMAZING experience! BoomShack decorated in line with my theme & provided me with referrals for entertainment such as a DJ & a mobile Photo Booth which all were nice personal touches that elevated the experience. My family raved about the service, ambiance, food, and the drinks. The staff was very friendly, the overall experience was affordable, and the food was so good! We will definitely be having more events here!

The menu variety and selection of foods are extremely delicious and prepared hot and served in less than 10-15 minutes! The restaurant is very spacious, cozy, with an intimate, relaxing and casual environment! Big Screen T.V.’s and a very nice Bar Area!

We are doing drop ins today for my birthday and we stopped in this hidden gem! The hot cheeto balls were everything I thought they would be, amazing. We also tried the egg rolls. The lobster Mac and cheese roll, chicken philly and spicy cajun crab and shrimp roll. They did not disappoint. We will be back for their boils and their Buffalo parm garlic catfish. If you are looking for good food, you don’t want to miss stopping at Boom Shack. I was thrilled when they opened this location which is closer to my home than their original take out only location on Ledbetter.
The food is cooked order so be prepared for a little bit of a wait which I promise will be worth it. The atmosphere has a great vibe (old school RNB covers) which sits well with this Boomer. The staff are all very nice, friendly and attentive. The owner checks on the customers to ensure everything is okay and because we know his Mom, he chatted with us for a few extra minutes.
I have sampled the fried catfish and pork chops on separate occasions. Both were cooked to perfection. I could have used a little more seasoning on the pork chops but that’s just. If you decide to give them a try. You will not be disappointed!!

I really wanted to support this business, but unfortunately my experience was extremely disappointing.
My friends and I arrived around 9:30pm and placed our order about 10–15 minutes later. Between the five of us, we ordered pasta, shrimp, and catfish. After ordering, the wait became excessive. By 10:30pm we still hadn’t received any food and had an event to attend, so we asked how much longer it would be. We were told 15 minutes. Based on that, we decided to pay ahead so we could leave as soon as the food was ready.
We were initially told we could split the check, but when it came time to pay, only part of us were allowed to split while the rest had to pay on one ticket to avoid extra charges. Even after paying, we waited another 20-30 minutes. At 11pm, after the establishment had already closed and we still didn’t have our food, I politely asked for a refund because we had to leave.
An older gentleman approached with a very dismissive attitude. When I calmly explained the situation and asked for a refund, he told me to “go get a refund then” and pointed toward the bar. I found this extremely unprofessional, especially after we had waited over an hour for food that should reasonably take 20–30 minutes.
The restaurant was not busy—most guests had already left—and even the remaining customers were unhappy with their meals. There was also a child running around the establishment holding chemicals and playing with lights, which raised safety concerns.
After not receiving some of the items we paid for, I was told to call back the following day to request a refund. Overall, the long wait, poor communication, and unprofessional customer service made this a very frustrating experience. The food was not worth the hassle, and I left truly disappointed.

From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere was warm, lively, and inviting. The staff was incredibly friendly and made me feel right at home. Every dish that came out was cooked to perfection — full of flavor, fresh ingredients, and beautifully presented.
