Party of eight and we were seated right away. Every meal on the table was great! Oysters, lobster rolls cold and hot, whole belly clams, clam strips, and a hamburger. Everything was great and everyone enjoyed our lunch and time together.
Waiter was attentive and checked in at appropriate times.

Casual local-vibe seafood place. Service and speed of bar drinks very very good. Happy hour and small plate specials 3:00-5:00 are of great value and recommended. Cost of dinner entrees higher than value received in some cases. Apps, salads, sandwiches are the sweet spot.

Visited solo 10-17-25 and 10-18-25 solo. First time to Cape Cod. First time to the Bookstore, I came on Friday, struggled to get service, understanding it was Friday eve on the wknd of the Oyster festival. Had one cocktail and decided to leave. Came the next mid afternoon- had to get away from the packed Oyster Festival crowd. I wanted something light to eat with a glass of wine. My server (says Peter on receipt) was not personable and “here’s the menu I’ll be back”. He presented a personality that wasn’t warming and deserving a quality tip. I ordered the limoncello cake. I liked it. Icing was not rich , not too sweet, light airy type, and my wine went well with it. I’d recommend!

The restaurant exceeded the recommendation for a late lunch. I had lobster grilled cheese which had a generous portion of lobster. The shrimp scampi contained large tender shrimp, spinach, and light garlic sauce. Local area resident Peter provided excellent service.

This was our first time to the Bookstore Restaurant. We thoroughly enjoyed the food and atmosphere. Our server was great! We had a couple appetizers and the Lobster Toasted Cheese. Everything was delicious and cooked perfectly. We would highly recommend this restaurant.

Food was very good. More expensive than other places nearby. I didn’t like that the tip was included but nobody mentioned that. The chowder was too thick but tasty.

Kayla was a first class server that helped describe the specials. Mussels du jour were drenched in a garlicky coconut curry, redolent of turmeric; oysters rockefeller were a little too cheesy for my liking, but oysters were cooked perfectly. Lobster gnocchi was beautiful and scrumptious; cocktails were spot on. Four stars is only because of atmosphere; screaming infant and a man with a dog on his lap. I wonder if seating them outside could have solved that (they were upstairs, so it wasn’t an accessibility issue). Will come again.

Service was above and beyond! Thank you Molly! Highly recommend the steamed little neck clams in wine/butter/tarragon. Be sure to order extra bread! Why this is listed as an appetizer is beyond me. It is a meal.
Be sure to save room for dessert. We had a true, key lime pie and a delightful, biscuit style strawberry shortcake.
The restaurant is charming both inside and out, if a bit on the noisy side.
Highly recommend!

We have gone to the bookstore a few times in recent years. This last visit to my family we went twice. The first visit I got oysters with a Caesar salad, both were good, I liked the anchovies. The second visit my wife got the fish Ruben which was awesome and I got raw little necks and chowder. All the raw seafood was fresh. The chowder was great and I am very picky with my chowder. My wife also got the vegan bowl our first visit and she said she loved it. The place is very kid friendly and does have a few vegetarian options. Easy spot to hop onto the adjacent beach or playground with a little one. We will come again next time we visit.
