Food was horrible. Teriyaki chicken was dry with teriyaki sauce squirted on it. Yakisoba was the same and how do you get dry noodles? Pot stickers were frozen products that tasted like they were left out Chicken fried rice was bland. The cleanliness was disgusting but the staff had time to disappear and be on their phones. Very disgruntled, disappointed and will not be back.

Sat at the sushi bar first and got gyozas and California roll. Both were delicious.
Then had hibachi. JJ was our chef, he seems to be well trained and very skillful. I would recommend him! Super friendly. We left a nice tip for him

Absolutely amazing!! Upon entering we were quickly sat down, my friend and I have never been but felt so helped and welcomed! Robert the hibachi chef was funny and skilled I caught a shrimp! Super fun I will be returning for sure! The New Braunfels roll was super good.

Visited San Antonio and stopped here for family dinner. I’ve been to several of this style restaurant across the country. We were very pleased with the show! The chef was very friendly with the kids and of course the adults. The standard jokes, heart burn, train whistle, volcano and FIRE, lots of FIRE!
The food was very good, soup salad and stir fry. We even had some sushi to share. Great night with family!

We came in on 8 on a week day which is a little bit later in the night (they close at 10 though) and we got our hibachi service at 8:45 which we thought was okay but when the cook came at 9:00 he had no tricks (other than 2 mins at the start) but after that he didn’t do any tricks. I get it, it was a little bit slow for a weekday but no volcano, no fire, nothing but cooking our food in front of us. Either way we got 2 cocktails and our food for pretty much 150$ and it wasn’t anything more than someone grilling food in front of us

Love this place!! Finally tried the Bonsai sushi roll and WOW! It is now my absolute favorite. We will definitely be coming back for it specifically! We also always order the spicy edamame as an appetizer which is great!

We came here for lunch and we were the only customers there. I wanted to show my boyfriend some food here in NB and I thought it would be a good place to go. (I was wrong) We sat at a table and it was unclean.
When we ordered we asked for different sides like butter and she stated that “if the kitchen was in a good mood then she would get it”. Which is weird. The food was decent.
The waitress we had was pretty rude when it came to the bill. It was three of us and she stated how much she felt we should tip and told us at least 18% because she only makes $2/hr. Which is understandable but she stood there almost hovering over the bill and waiting for us to write how much we were going to tip and didn’t notice the $25 we already had on the table for her tip. It just made the experience uncomfortable and awkward. I used to love this place but it’s sadly gone downhill.

Bonzai Steak and Sushi Restaurant is a hibachi lover’s dream! The Hibachi steak is seriously juicy and bursting with flavor. Not to mention, their service is top-notch – friendly vibes all around. Props to Betty for her bubbly personality, which brightens up your day. Their lunch specials are a great value – a satisfying meal with soup and veggies included. And hey, they even offer a military discount, which is a nice touch. Oh, and let’s not forget about their sweet tea – it’s seriously good stuff. Trust me, you won’t be disappointed at Bonzai!

The service at Bonzai is always great! However, the food and the atmosphere is not :c everything is so sticky and it smells kind of weird in the building. The sushi is a bit pricey and it’s not that great. I’ve ate here more than a few times and every time I regret it. I will not be going back.

I adore coming here!!! The staff is amazing, and the Sushi Chefs treat everybody like family!! The food is always incredible, so fresh…and the flavor combinations are so amazing!!!
