Bonsai Sushi in Doral offers fresh, flavorful rolls with good portion sizes and generally attentive, friendly service. The atmosphere is casual and comfortable, but the fried rice was oily, overly salty, and had an overpowering garlic flavor, and the steak in the Bento box arrived cold. While sushi items tend to shine, the hot entrées could use improvement for consistency. Overall, it’s still a decent sushi spot in Doral — I’d rate it 3.5 out of 5 stars based on mixed food quality.

I ordered the Crazy Coco and it was super sweet but our sever took the time to change it for me which was appreciated. The 2 appetizers were great. We had the edamame and the Toston Crab. My husband had the Seafood Caldereta, which was 10/10! I have to make a parenthesis here: we found a closed mussel in his dish which is usually a big no, and we brought it to the attention just to let the team know and they decided to remove from the bill the Crazy Coco drink which really wasn’t necessary but still appreciated! I had the Tokyo Roll which was 8/10. We will def come back! Our server was Genesis and she was great! We came with the idea that this place was just Japanese but there is definitely a fusion and a leaning toward Peruvian although not Peruvian. We also didn’t see their website/menu so there is that. Def check the place.
