I bought a Cloud 9 size regular and it was so bad. It was around $16 and the base was so bad. You know when you leave out ice cream and try freezing it again but it has a nasty freezer burnt texture and flavor? That’s exactly how it tasted. Like it was melted, then refrozen. It tasted nothing like coconut and instead … Gas. If the smell of gas had a flavor that’s what this tasted like lol. The place is cute for pictures but the floor was dirty and it just wasn’t too clean. Also if I walk in and order why does it take like 8 minutes to get my bowl… it’s just not good guys. It’s not worth your money or time to come. It might be like “healthy” but it just doesn’t taste good. I’d recommend just going to a regular ice cream place for like coconut ice cream. But the granola was nice, and the fruit was fine. It’s just the base had a nasty taste and not good texture. Don’t waste almost $20 lol. Both me and my friend had it, and didn’t like it at all.

I’m a huge fan of Tropical Smoothie Cafe. But this place blew me away.
Coconut, açaí, peanut butter and granola and honey was mind blowing!
The staff was warm and friendly. The dining area and bathrooms were exceptionally clean.
Atmosphere is just right.
I’ll be back here many times, well worth the price!

This place was amazing when it was Sweet Berry Bowls but since it changed owners/name it has been terrible. Customer service is not great but they were out of eggs, out of sauce cups, out of spicy peanut sauce (still on menu), and the plain tortillas were frozen still so unable to get the wrap I wanted. They also are too expensive for the product they are putting out. Bring Sweet Berry Bowls back please! As a long time customer, I guess this is my time coming since it’s definitely gone downhill and not managed well.

First time here. I ordered two acai bowls, and they messed my bowls completely up. There was barely any acai in the bowls. A little acai juice soaked up the granola, and fruits do it was a hard granola crunchy bowl. Playa bowls (the best acai bowls) I was trying something new, and it never fails. The manager said she would email me and send pictures of my bowls and that I would receive two free bowls, but she never emailed me, and i never received any response. There were only two kids working yesterday, one who said she was the manager, so it was expected.

The bowls are tasty. Not an out of the box idea ,still tasty. What’s makes it better is a perfect location , a beautiful indoor ambience and fast serving staff for the crowd. This is a small place but have managed to maintain nice decor which many places fail to do. Overall the presentation is what impresses people along with decent bowls.

Really disappointed in the newer management. The bowls have shrunk in size and prices have gone up. I would’ve expected at least the same quality but the smoothie tasted like frozen water and more artificial. I used to love coming here but after my last order, might be rethinking

The reason im giving Bonita Bowls four stars is because their bowls could be more consistent. There have been times where my bowls have been more filled, and times where it has been less. The service is fantastic, and i like coming here for it. The atmosphere is nice, good music set at a good volume so it doesn’t become too distracting or loud, making a nice place to chat with friends.

Me and my family went there last week even though my sister had told me she had been there recently and it was not good anymore. So I still decided to go because I really used liked this place and thought to myself maybe it was just a bad experience for her that day. Unfortunately it was bad for us too, we got two cloud nines and the base was horrible. It was like If I was having a slushie. We ended up only eating the fruit and granola. I guess our drive from Chicago to there is not worth it anymore.

EDIT: I’ve been a regular here for a while, and during my last visit, I was upset with what I received, leading me to leave a one-star review.
However, the Manager/Owner personally reached out to apologize and explain the situation. He clarified that while the portion may have seemed smaller, it was actually due to their standard portioning: 8 oz of Açaí and 8 oz of granola, with fruit on top. They had recently taken over new management and discovered that the Elmhurst location had been portioning bowls incorrectly in the past.
This explanation made sense, and I appreciated the courtesy of the call.
I still really enjoy the bowls here—my frustration was just due to initial confusion. If you’re wondering about any changes, I recommend speaking with their manager, who can explain everything in detail!
