Bonilla’s is open and serving a very good diverse menu of Italian favorites! Open 7am to 10pm daily for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Pizza was had and the dough is fresh made, great marinara sauce, fresh mushrooms and pepperoni. Excellent pizza. Also, spaghetti and meatballs taste great. Excellent sauce and wonderful pasta cooked to perfection. Service was hospitable and gracious. Great espresso as well. I recommend and will return to try more treats.

Fred Bonilla is the owner and truly tried to make it a great experience. It is a small restaurant with only a few tables, but the tables are large. I had the steak and lobster. Unfortunately, the lobster wasn’t cooked completely, but even I told Mr. Bonilla, he fixed it right away. The mashed potatoes were also crunchy (under cooked). He said he doesn’t serve many, so he had to make them fresh. The steak was great.
My daughter had the lobster salad, and she really enjoyed it.
We went on a Friday evening around 730. There was only one other table seated other than ours. We did see people getpick-upp orders to go.

This is one of the best places to eat Italian food. The owner/chef treats you like family. He asked for critiques on the food and enhanced it. The food came out so fast, and it was very delicious. If anyone is looking for Italian with fresh ingredients, go here.

Ordered our drinks, and an appetizer- mozzarella sticks with a fresh marinara !
Then we ordered from the menu. One order fettuccine with lobster &shrimp, 2 orders of a special dish, and 1 order of fettuccine Alfredo w/chicken.
No shrimp available so he replaced with double lobster, and no chicken available and that was replaced with house made sausage.
All was delicious- replacements and all.

Owner is such a nice man and so passionate about his craft. Took my little daughter here and he instantly made us feel at home. My daughter asked if the marinara onions in it (she doesn’t like onions) and he made fresh marinara sauce just for her and left the onions out. I got my favorite (seafood portifino) which Olive Garden took off the menu years ago and it was delicious (as was the calamari). Everything is fresh, well priced, and delicious. I will definitely be back.

This place is a hidden gem. The food is delicious, and the owner is an absolute delight. The restaurant was extremely clean, and the owner was very attentive and personable.
We started with the lobster fondue bread, and my dad also got a zuppa toscana which was so rich & flavorful. For entrees we ordered the spaghetti and meatballs, lobster linguine, and the ribeye & shrimp. Everything is made to order, and arrives to your table piping hot.
We ended the meal with strawberry cheesecake (didn’t get to snap a pic of that) and an Italian coffee.
Overall, highly recommend you try this place. We will definitely be returning.

Surprisingly really great! I was really wanting pasta. I quickly look up pasta nearby and this place came up. At the time there was only 5 reviews. I decided to take a chance and try it. I’m so glad we did!! It was sooo delicious!! Will definitely be back. Everything was made fresh since we were the only ones it was quick but I bet if that place is full it would take some time since they make it as you order. Everything we got was good. The bread the ravioli the pasta. Yum yum yum. I will be back!!

Mashed potato had a weird kind of gravy, steak also had a weird seasoning, wife didn’t like the bruschetta app. Overall wasn’t bad but didn’t go with our palette. Just be aware steak tastes like Italian vinaigrette (dressing?) service is good tho.

The food was amazing! We had fried mozzarella and shrimp bruschetta for appetizers. Steaks, burgers and Garden Salad with grilled chicken for entrees. Strawberry Cheesecake for dessert and it was lights out. The chef and owner Mr. Bonilla came and talked with us and very nice and humble man. This is a hidden gem in the RGV!
