Our first time here was way back in 2008 and we have been about three times since. Never disappoints. Always amazing. Everything made from scratch. We each order a savory dish and split a sweet dish, like the cranberry lemencello pancakes. We come here every time we are in Chicago. Literally the best breakfast I have ever had.

I have been here twice, and each time the service and food have been excellent. The fact that there are plenty of vegetarian options is a relief, since I often dine with non-meat-eaters. The breakfast burrito and tomatillo salsa scramble are both tasty. It can be busy, but I have always had prompt, polite service.

Bongo Room is an amazing brunch spot with a fun and relaxed atmosphere. Their pancakes are seriously some of the best I’ve ever had — fluffy, creative, and full of flavor. The staff is always cheerful and quick, even when it’s packed. It’s definitely one of those places you look forward to coming back to on a lazy weekend morning.

Where do I even begin… Mr. Edgar welcomed us right away with so much kindness that we instantly knew we were in for a wonderful morning. Then came the banana latte – warm, smooth, and just so amazing. Then the most delicious benedicts (and I also love how many options they have for every craving!). And yep, the white chocolate & caramel pretzel pancakes absolutely stole our hearts!
And of course, who am I to say no to a good matcha? The pistachio matcha was such a perfect addition to everything!!
This place truly has our hearts and we already cannot wait to be back! Thank you, Edgar and the team

From the moment you walk in, you can feel what makes this place special. It’s a smaller spot, but filled with so much natural light that it feels bright and welcoming. We came for brunch and it was busy, but we were happy to grab a seat at the bar and get settled right away.
The staff is genuinely wonderful – every person was so friendly, cheerful, and patient, helping us decide what to order and explaining all the specials. Their positive energy is infectious! It was also a treat to see the owner behind the bar, experimenting with new drink creations. He looks focused, but he’s incredibly chill and great to talk to.
And then there’s the food. The presentation is absolutely stunning, with every plate and drink looking like a work of art. Best of all, everything tastes as incredible as it looks. It’s clear they’re passionate about top-tier quality in both flavor and appearance. This was a truly fantastic brunch experience all around.

Great breakfast spot. Came a little later in the morning, no wait. The chorizo burrito is very good. For waffles, pancakes etc. You can do half or small orders as well. My wife loved the french toast and my daughter the mini pancakes. Great specialty coffee as well.

Our group of six went for brunch. The place was busy as can be. This place is dialed in and well organized with table service, efficiency, and checking back often for what we needed. Water glasses were always kept filled and excess little empty plates were taken away to keep our table clear. Our group ordered many different menu options and each said that they were tasty. Some ordered drinks also. Our waitress was super nice and efficient. It is a very busy place but it is well managed to keep pace with the needs. We were there on a Saturday around 11 am. I recommend this place for big breakfast lovers. Our entire party loved their food and would return. I am attaching photos.

Food was amazing and filling. The waitress was very nice and attentive. Atmosphere was great except, I didn’t like how the busboy came over and took the trash I had just gotten off from my straw. Then they did it again when my friend was eating and took away a plate when he wasn’t finished eating. Why can’t you just wait until we leave the table? It was annoying. Besides that everything was great. The 3 stars are for the busboys not the waitresses. They were awesome.
