We stopped for brunch on a busy Sunday. The place was bustling but the service was prompt and friendly. My wife ordered a screwdriver and I had a Bloody Mary. It was nicely garnished with pickle, olive, cocktail onion, hot pepper, and a strip of crispy bacon. Very nice.
I had a Big Wet Breakfast Burrito. It was a good sized burrito with chorizo covered with a tangy red sauce. Great.
My wife had Huevos Mexicanos. She thought it spent too much time under the broiler, but it was OK.
Overall a good experience.

I’m honestly disappointed with the food quality. I ordered my steak medium, but it came out well done, completely overcooked. After the meal I felt unwell, which definitely shouldn’t happen when eating out.
Another issue was the overall atmosphere. I felt uncomfortable due to the behavior of some guests who were staring in a way that felt disrespectful. I have no problem with anyone’s lifestyle, but I strongly believe that mutual respect should go both ways, and unfortunately that was missing during my visit.
On the positive side:
The local beer was excellent. I highly recommend the La Quinta local beer – it was strong, well-balanced, fruity, and had a very distinctive, characterful taste. That was easily the best part of the experience.
Overall, good beer, but the food and atmosphere need serious improvement.

High above Palm Canyon we had a late lunch. Very good drinks. The burgers were juicy and superior. Huge portions. The staff and owner made us feel like family. 2 patios.

I haven’t been to Bongo Johnny’s in years so I figured I’d go today. Well the service wasn’t good and the food not any better. It’s a Monday and holidays ended 2 weeks ago. It’s slow. Our server was nice but forgot our beverage we ordered. Then my burger was made with an ingredient that I had asked not to have. On top of that my burger had a white string of something and a hair. I’m assuming the manager came to address the issue. He didn’t introduce himself but assured me his cooks on the line all have hair nets. He shared he didn’t see anything wrong with my burger but would take it off the bill. I’m so disappointed because I remember the food, service and atmosphere being great. This place really went down hill and it looks like it could benefit from a renovation and face lift.

Great food and amazing service, our server was very friendly. They were very accommodating when I asked to remove the meat from the omelette dish.
The atmosphere here is also great, other customers are very friendly and everyone seemed to be having a great time. All of our breakfast options were reasonably priced and we enjoyed the champagne.

This place is great, I love the staff and the vibe! Staff is so sweet and lovely and have great local recommendations! The food and drinks are really good, highly recommend the pink cucumber drink it’s vodka elderflower cucumber strawberry and lemon, it’s amazing. They also have $7 bottomless champagne! Their prime rib sandwich and mashed potatoes are stellar!

We’ve been here three times in the last couple years and the food has always been delicious. I have always ordered fish and chips, and they’ve been really good. This time I did try the fries in truffle oil with Parmesan and it wasn’t my favorite. Fries were fresh and hot it just wasn’t for me. I’d like to come back and try breakfast sometime. Everyone is always nice and polite.

The brunch is where it’s at. The breakfast sandwich is worth every penny. And yes bottomless mimosas were our initial motivation to partake however the food is why I go back time and again. The service is superb. There’s outdoor seating which is nice when weather permits. Expect a wait on weekends. I go on Mondays when it’s less hectic. This is my go to recommendation when folk from other places ask about brunch.
