Today was the first of many more visits. Everything we ordered came out perfect. Will definitely be returning. Ashley was AWESOME! Well knowledgeable on the menu…and she makes the best Old-fashioned! The Chef/Owner came out and spoke with us. If you don’t like this place, then you need to stay home! We ordered everything she recommended. Thanks for the great customer service!!

We were in search of a nice place to eat before we picked up our daughter from college. We arrived at Bone Appetite in Lexington, SC and they did not disappoint. The service was outstanding, the atmosphere was chic, and the food was truly something special. We shared the sizzlin’ crab dip with wonton chips, Tso brussel sprouts, hand cut ribeye, butter burger with fries, and their baked potato with their signature cheese sauce. Everything was fresh, full of flavor, and worth the travel. We will definitely be returning on a regular basis:)

Went to Bone Appetite for dinner with my staff last night 12/19/25 and we had an amazing time! Everything was cooked to perfection, we had a variety of menu items to share and our own individual meals and plenty to bring home! Drinks were great and the staff got it all right. They let us stay after closing and vibe out with the DJ, dance and just enjoy our night! We were a group of about 20 and not a single complaint all night! We had the pleasure of meeting the owner Justin and he was very inviting, thanked us for being there to celebrate the holidays and made sure we had a great time! Will definitely come back with my husband for date night soon!
*also note, we spent $100+ per person and got multiple meals as a team because that was our work budget. All dinners were between $25-35 and very reasonable

I gathered some work friends at Bone-Appetite to catch up and unwind. I’ve been here before about a year ago and really enjoyed the food, which is why I chose this spot again. Unfortunately, this visit was very disappointing.

We waited over an hour for our food. When it finally arrived, the quality was not what I remembered. My lamb chops were extremely small, and I also ordered the vanilla whipped sweet potatoes. They had small white chunks mixed in, which didn’t seem right. When I asked the server, he said some of the sweet potatoes could have been white, but it still didn’t taste or look appealing.

One of my friends ordered her salmon well done. After eating part of it, she reached the middle and found it was raw. Instead of bringing her a new piece of salmon, the kitchen took the same salmon she had already been eating and grilled it longer, which was unacceptable.

We also ordered the Philly egg rolls, which were completely different from what we’ve had here before and were covered in cheese sauce. The salmon bites had a very fishy taste, and we ended up sending those back as well.

Our server truly tried his best throughout the night, but by the time we were ready to pay, he was flustered and mixed up most of the tickets, making it difficult for us to check out smoothly.

Overall, the experience was nothing like what it used to be. Between the long wait, food quality issues, and service breakdown at the end, this visit was a letdown. I hope the restaurant can get back to the quality it once had.

One of the finest restaurants near Lexington. I was amazed to find a place of this quality tucked away on a side street away from downtown.
We had a pleasant conversation with a couple of beers outside before we went inside for dinner.
The jagersnitzel was the best I’ve ever had, but the best item was the Tso brussel sprouts. Delicious without the normal cabbage taste.
Our waitress was so pleasant and helpful. The atmosphere was perfect.
I am sorry I don’t live near Lexington because I would eat here all the time! (and gain lots of weight!)
If you are looking for a quiet place for an excellent meal, this is the place for you!

I’m not exaggerating when I say my experience at this establishment might have been the best dining-out meal I’ve had in the Columbia area in years. My mom suggested we try this place for the first time last Saturday night, and while I can’t speak for her, we were not disappointed!

While we didn’t have a reservation, we were still promptly seated and taken care of. We started out with an appetizer of fried mushrooms (which weren’t specifically called fried mushrooms; it seems they’re no longer available at the moment, but I must say, they certainly taste healthier and heartier than most)! For our main course, my mom ordered the rosemary’s chicken with a side of butternut squash and I ordered breaded mahi-mahi served with spinach cream sauce and a side of crawdad poppers. The food was absolutely phenomenal! I personally loved the sweet sauce that was served with the poppers, and ended up dipping several pieces of fish in it. I also tried a drumstick from the chicken, which was oh-so-savory and well-seasoned. As someone who is normally a bit funny about how spinach is served, the sauce was also delicious. Whatever sauce they used for the squash was a bit sweet for my taste, but I don’t fault the restuarant for that; I didn’t even order it, after all!

Kyle, our waiter, was entertaining and polite; I had ordered a sweet tea to drink, and he shared an anecdote after my first refill about how his grandmother used to serve an overly sugary sweet tea he referred to as “diabetea”, which got a laugh out of my mom (who largely successfully avoids eating any sugar) and I (who’s been trying to quit their consumption of overly sugary foods) both. Speaking of sugar, Kyle tried to gauge our interest in ordering dessert, but we were both full; we assured him that next time we were in the area, we’d come back super hungry so we could try some!

We were also checked in on after we were done eating by a kind black gentleman whom I believe might’ve been the general manager. I didn’t get his name, nor the name of the girl who seated us, but everyone on the staff we encountered was accomodating, friendly, and pleasant. The bill for 2 ($81 total including gratuity) was well worth it – and much cheaper than expected – for such a good meal. Will be returning whenever we get the chance; and we might bring others!

Sadly, the only picture I got of the food was a plate of mushrooms I sent to my sister, who can’t stand their taste nor texture

I have to say, I was in for a treat I didn’t expect. First was the service and attentive waitresses. Super polite, personable and knowledgeable about their menu, without being overbearing. And the smooth, elegant atmosphere made me immediately comfortable. Smooth, mellow, sleek but not like, snobby or pretentious. It was a easygoing, yet fancy vibe. Perfect.

Now the food. I got the bone in ribeye and wow… cooked perfectly as ordered. With yellow rice. (My option) I would have preferred a second side with the meal but I cant control that part. But my food tasted so good I immediately knew I was coming back.

It was my wife’s birthday, so we got the chocolate cake and I even ate that… which says a LOT, since I dont tend to eat much sweets. I can’t rave enough about this place. I wasn’t expecting much but man was I absolutely wrong. If you are in Lexington SC or nearby, you gotta try it. You will not be disappointed.

Atmosphere: Absolutely love the dim lighting inside (so many places have harsh stage lights right on ya) and the hanging lights outside that make for a great mood setting. The patio is lovely as well. The right volume of music inside and the tables are arranged nicely so you have a certain amount of privacy (at-least where we were sat)

Service: We had an excellent waiter! He was very vocal and upbeat. You can tell he had a lot of things going at once but never forgot anything and was very polite and accommodating when the restaurant was out of certain menu items and exchanging an unwanted item.

Food: Their loaded nachos were amazing! The chips are a new favorite for sure! And the apple bone-Ada dessert was so good. There were some misses such as the salad having a ton of salt on it, and one persons steak was overly dry, though mine was fantastic (New York strip) . But I count those towards just regular human error and not a reflection on the restaurant as a daily occurrence.

Overall I rate the whole experience a 5/5 and we plan to be back to enjoy the wonderful atmosphere and a bunch of appetizers and dessert next time 🙂 It’s definitely nice to have such a fine dining restaurant so close.

I decided to dine here last night for the first time for my birthday and the entire experience was … subpar to say the least. Upon arriving i was standing at the front for about 5/10 minutes. I finally talked to someone after looking around to which she never came back, i then talked to someone else who i assume was the manager who told me I was lucky because i’m past my grace period which i of course corrected her since i had been standing and waiting with no help. Even after arriving and checking in we were still waiting for the table to be ready for us. We sat down and waited MORE for our server to come great us. The only part of the service that went smoothly was probably ordering food and drinks+ checking out. The servers attention was very lack luster.. she was barely seen, there was alot of empty cups waiting for refills on the table, salads took awhile also. Once the food started coming out all but 2 of my guest received their food which makes no sense because they ordered salmon and everybody else ordered steak, maybe that’s just me. After everybody is eating and engaging in their meal, the salmon entrees finally comes out, instead of my friends having their meal one of the waitress drops the food on her ! obviously mistakes happen, which i believe was due to her carrying too much at one time (2 entrees which were probably hot + togo boxes and bags) but once the bill came there was no deduction and the server even questioned why she wanted a discount even asked my guest “because she dropped it”… well yes but also she missed out on enjoying meal along side everybody else. I will say she was discounted even after the server made it seem like it would be a hassle to get. I just don’t think this was the best experience I could’ve received for a birthday dinner, I get being busy but I don’t think that was the case. I had got the Bone in ribeye priced at about $35 I believe covered in mushroom and onions with a side of cheesy potatoes. the steak was fairly big, cooked to the perfect temp but on the salty side and the cheese sauce on the potatoes was not too tasty but the potatoes itself were season really well. would i return? probably not.

This place is amazing. I’ve driven by this place a million times and been a little curious. We decided to celebrate our anniversary here a couple months ago, and it was just amazing. We had an early reservation, so we got there before any crowds really hit. It was quiet and lovely. The food was incredible. I can’t really do dairy, so they were kind enough to put the cheese sauce for the fries on the side so my husband could still enjoy. The drinks were also delicious.

Two notes: The menu on the website is not what they use. They do a new menu every week or two, which I was happy about because there was more I wanted on the updated one. Also, I think they upfitted an old diner because it was like a diner vibe on the inside, but they dress up the booths to seem nicer. I enjoyed it a lot. I hope to go back one day!
