I rarely leave reviews, but my experience at Bonchon in Chinatown was so disappointing that I feel compelled to warn others. From the moment we walked in, things went downhill. We were brought upstairs to be seated, but the stairs were slippery and unsafe. When we reached the second floor, the entire floor was sticky and slippery as well. I mentioned this to the hostess, and she literally laughed. Someone is going to get seriously hurt if this isn’t addressed.
As for the food and service—equally terrible. No one asked what sides or drinks we wanted; we had to tell the server ourselves. We ordered a corn dog and wings, both of which came out burnt to a crisp, greasy, and tasting like they’d been cooked in old oil that hadn’t been changed. The sauce was barely a drizzle and didn’t even coat the chicken.
The rice with the katsu chicken was cold. When I complained, they brought out a new one that was only lukewarm. At this point, it was clear there is a real lack of care in food preparation.
It honestly feels like Bonchon has turned into more of a sports bar, where the food is an afterthought, and the upkeep of the restaurant is just as neglected. Between the unsafe floors, poor service, and inedible food, this place is absolutely not worth your time or money.
I genuinely want a refund. Avoid this location at all costs.

Eunice was a wonderful server to us and provided us with great service. We did have to wait a little about 5-10 minutes but the wait was definitely worth it. Cocktails were great! She was kind and took care of us.

I feel like the cook has change. It chicken is so inconsistent! Sometime it would be too crispy to the point is tough to bite and literally no sauce. Use to be my childhood hangout place and was the best. Literally cant keep giving this place a chance just for it to get worse and worse. Use to be saucy, now super dry

If you want really good consistent Korean fast food, but several notches above any American fast food, Then BonChon is all you need.
Fried chicken is just hands down better than any other.
Over the past 3 days we went here twice. I highly recommend the Seoul Sampler at $33 dollars to be a great introduction to their food.
It can get very noisy, but I think that lends to the experience!

Chicken wings were great, but removed one star because the filling in the tacos could be better… At least, I had tried the from the Bonchon located in University City, and they were more yummy and had more filling (not sure if the recipe was exactly the same though)!
Otherwise, great service and atmosphere!

If I could give them negative stars, I would friends and I arrive to Bonchon. We seated for about 10 minutes. Another family stepped in seated right after us as the 10 minutes go by we asked the kitchen guy. Can we get a waiter or waitress? They had one maybe two people there taking orders my company and I move from where we were sitting to the bar to be more convenient and still waited patiently for another 7-10 minutes The two people taking orders ignored us the entire time they serve the family who walked in after us. The lady waitress attended to two other ladies who weren’t there before us we were invisible, and it was because we were three black women because the families that were served before us who came after us Was a white family and the two ladies who were served by the lady waitress or two white Girls Cherry st bonchon is racist

Wings were crispy, sauced perfectly, and packed with flavor. The spicy (Yangnyeom) had just the right kick—sweet heat balanced just right. Potstickers were excellent. Liz at the bar was friendly, helpful, and kept everything moving smoothly. Loved the little touches: chopsticks, wet wipe, side options. Definitely worth a visit—I’ll be back.

My Friend & I Ordered Our Food Via Phone Just Before 1am On A Thursday. They Asked For Name & Number & Said They Would Call Once Ready Which Was At 1:31am. The Restaurant Is Nicely Decorated & The Service From Nina At The Bar Was Fast & Good But I Think I Was The Only One There To Order So Take That With A Grain Of Salt.

The Food However Was Not Good & Considering How Much We Paid It Was EXTREMELY Disappointing. My Friend Ordered The Chicken Sandwich & Seasoned Fries & I Had The Chicken Katsu With A Side Of Kimchi.

The Fries Were The Best Part Of The Meal, I Would Recommend Those.

The Chicken Sandwich Was Way Smaller Than Expected & Did Not Seem Fried. The Chicken Katsu Was DRY, Hard, & Tasted/Felt Like It Had Been Reheated Several Times. The Kimchi While More Edible Than The Entrees But Still Left A Lot To Be Desired.

In Addition, Their Menu Is Extremely Difficult To Navigate & Understand With Descriptions Being Cut Off. & Even Though Listed As Open On Google When I Tried To Place An Online Order It Gave Me A Message Saying They’re Closed. I Decided To Call Anyway Because I Wanted To Try The Food & They Answered. I Originally Wanted A Bulgogi Dish But They Said After 12am Only A Limited Menu Is Available.

I Will Say I Got A Shot & It Was Only $9.90 So Maybe I’ll Return For Drinks But I Won’t Get Food.

I’d definitely come back here more often. their chicken is 100% same or even better than fried chicken in Korea I would say. the Yangnyeom sauce was spicier than I expected but worked well with me. it was a little loud at the restaurant tho
