Love Bonchon but the portions here have gotten so small, while prices go up. $16+ for “Strips” that are about the size of a McNugget, and $7+ for a handful of fries (with barley any seasoning) is crazy. It has been almost a year since I last visited — and now I remember why. Issues are specific to this location: experiences at the one in Nutley and Union are SO different. Despite all the bad reviews and responses assuring patrons that “it’s being looked into,” no actual effort appears to be being made.

I’ve been here numerous of time and the food is always great. I always get the chicken katsu, which is always a very reasonable amount of food for the price, and I got the Bulgogi Fries as well this time. Both were very delicious. Online, it told me that my order would be ready in 15 minutes, and exactly 15 minutes later, my order was ready. I personally haven’t noticed that much of a change in portion sizes, but even so, its 2026, do people seriously expect a dinner for $12. I agree with the fact that the restauraunt is not great if you wanted to sit down, but I always do takeout and its always good

Food has gone down the hill since last couple times I’ve been the tenders/strips are now as flat as a pancake which makes them taste very dry and nasty . Service is also terrible never honor the pickup time so if you order expect to have it ready 25 min after pickup time . Lastly the atmosphere is ok the bathroom is very dirty. The quality and quantity has gone down and he prices only go up . 10 slim and dry tenders will run more than 20$ if you are in the area better off going to Don chichen if you want some good Korean fried chicken for better value and taste.

Ordered online ( 20 wings + fries) for pick up at a specific time. I arrived on time, food not ready. I went in 4x and each time, I received an apology and a different wait time.
This location moves slow and when they get things wrong, they think a simple sorry cuts it.

When they finally handed me the food, they handed me a bag of fries, there were like 15 fries in the bag. WHAT?!?

The fact that I had to walk into this establishment more than once to get an update, immediately warrants more than a sorry.
Normally, I order from another location and will continue to. This location isn’t cutting it.

Walked in and ordered. I didn’t leave the location until after they closed because it took that long to get my food. It took over a half hour for my order to be completed. For a chain I’m appalled that this is the type of operation here. I’d rather drive an hour to fort Lee and get Korean fried chicken than to visit this location 15 minutes from me. Food wasn’t even hot when I got it. Extremely disappointed.

I ordered the to go meal for 4-6 people which was supposed to include 12 wings and 6 drums, instead I got 6 wings and 4 drums. Not to mention the size of the pieces were small and barely had any meat. Very disappointed in this location. I called to let them know that half our order was missing, and they said the manager would call back, but they never did. I am still waiting for my refund, and I am still hungry.

Update:
Filled out the link I was told to in the comments and still never heard back from them. We ordered from another Korean fried chicken spot down the street, which had much larger portions and worth the money.

I ordered a lunch special that comes with a “complimentary side”. I ordered the coleslaw because I didn’t want to pay extra for fries.

I received my order and the coleslaw was not with 2 of our lunch specials, I called to get a partial refund but because it was complimentary and part of the special they could not initiate a refund. They never called to tell me the coleslaw was not ready to be served and offer me a different side dish.

The portions continue to get smaller and the price increase over time. I probably will not eat there again.

Used to love Bonchon, but not any more. The size is much smaller than previous. And today’s meal I picked up at 12:30pm, was horrible. Not tasted good, but like the leftovers from last night, got refried to be picked up.

Most inconsistent bonchon I’ve ever ordered from. Today was the 3rd time I’ve ordered from this location and it was definitely the worst. The chicken was undercooked. It was rubbery and slimy and sticking to the bone. I had to cut open every single piece (drumsticks and wings) and microwave it for 2-3 minutes in order to eat it. Even then, I was still concerned. The skin was also soggy because it wasn’t cooked long enough.

The previous time I had ordered from here, the chicken was severely overcooked and dry and there was barely any sauce on it. The 1st time I ever ordered, the chicken was amazing. Not sure how I can have such different experiences each time from the same location. I love bonchon but after this experience, it’ll definitely be a while before I give them another chance.

I wanted to like this place so I gave it multiple chances. The chicken has a nice crispy skin. However, it seems to be either extremely salty to the point of being inedible, or it won’t taste of anything besides burnt oil if you order it without seasoning. People, save your money and go to another Korean chicken spot.
