I went there for lunch. Waitress is excellent. Mixed Bonchon with wing & drum are delicious. I like soy garlic source. Atmosphere is inviting like you are eating in a sports bar. Highly recommend.

I ordered 10 pieces of chicken tenders to go, half soy garlic and half spicy. When I got home eight minutes later, the breading was so soggy it slid off the tender. It was not saucy or crispy at all and the tenders were skinny and bland. My husband and I were both so hungry and we were disappointed. Please do better. For 28$? Not worth it.

The food is delicious and the portions are generous. There were 4 adults in our group and we shared a medium combo and it’s plenty of food for us. The restaurant was very clean, spacious, very well maintained and tastefully decorated. The big screen TVs and bar are great for sports hangouts. Friendly services made the experience even more enjoyable. Convenient location. Plenty of parking. We’ll definitely visit again. Highly recommended!

Had lunch at Bonchon in Newark.
We ordered the drumstick lunch meal, and you get 4 drumsticks with a side coleslaw or fries. You can choose the type of sauces.

For first timers, I recommend the mild sauce as the spicy sauce might be a little too spicy. Good size drumsticks and cooked to order, so they were juicy and piping hot.

The waitress was very helpful in recommending what to get and what not to get.

I assume the restaurant gets busier at night…and that would make sense since they serve alcohol. Korean fried chicken would be fantastic with a cold beer.

About 15 tables and a bar. Nice and clean. Bibimbap is great, just like the best ones from a traditional Korean restaurant. Tteokbokki is much heavier and cheesy, very different than traditional ones, and the flavor is rich and creamy, still good in a different way. Both flavors, spicy and garlic soy, of the fried chicken are good, and the crust is crispy but the batter could be a bit thinner. The chicken meat is just mediocre, even a bit stale.

I’ve had bonchon from multiple locations but this one is not it. The chicken was dry inside, the crust was thick, and there were not enough sauce. You could tell it was refried just from the outside. It might even be triple reheated by how dry the meat was and how thick the crust was. Usually the crust is the best part with bonchon but this was just a disappointment. I asked the server if the food was reheated but I was ignored.

Recently just had the Sotteok Sotteok. Super delicious, would highly recommend for a savory quick bite! Only $2.99 as well! Don’t hesitate on giving it a try. Definitely going to order more in the future.

Very disappointed and was served uncooked chicken. Was a long time fan of bonchon but this is unacceptable. Every single one of our drumstick order was undercooked and not crispy at all. The fries was also so minimal to the point where I can count the amount of fries that was given. If this is how things are going for a restaurant that just opened, it will not last very long no matter how large of a following bonchon has. My order # was 10276.

I’ve never left a review, but this restaurant made me to do it. If I could give them 0 star, I would do it.

My husband got the half and half chicken (spicy and soy) for to go. When we open the food and had the first bite, it destroyed our dinner at all. The chicken looked like they used left-over food, or they at least refried. In the same piece, the frying paste were both overcooked and too raw by having a several later. In addition, some part tasted and smelled like dishsoap. After having one piece, we just threw it away. It was the worst food that I have ever had, and I cannot believe they sell the food like that.
Not only we wasted our money, but also we ruined our dinner.

Love this place. Ordered the large chicken strips the first time and it lasted us like four days. The second time I had the udon and and we shared a medium chicken strips and we still took away 2 boxes of leftovers. Great value, great service.
