This Bon Chon location is different from the ones I’ve been to in NYC. This location is set up like a fast food restaurant. You order and pick up the food from the counter. There’s no wait staff and you clean your table yourself.

Service was good. The lady behind the counter was helpful and helped us to decide what to order. We ended up getting the popcorn shrimp, fries, fried shrimp shumai, bulgogi sliders, and the soy garlic chicken wings combo.

We didn’t like the sauce that they put on top of the fried shrimp shumai. I really wished they had asked us first and we would have asked to put the sauce on the side. Otherwise the shumai was pretty good, albeit fried a little bit too well done. The bulgogi sliders were tasty and surprisingly very filling.

The popcorn shrimp was a disappointment. They looked and tasted like the ones you buy from the supermarket and didn’t taste like it was done from scratch. The fries were okay. I felt it could have used more salt and maybe more parmesan. Thankfully, the chicken wings combo was very good, as you would expect from a chicken joint. It had a nice crunchy texture and good soy garlic flavor.

How lucky were we to stumble upon this cute new place today! The restaurant feels fresh and clean, the service was very warm and cheery, and the homestyle family recipes were especially delicious. You can tell a lot of care and attention goes into these meals. Their japchae was simply the best ever! It was picture perfect and incredibly tasty with a lot of fresh vegetables, just how I like it. We ate it all up and will 100% be heading back to Bona Kitchen for more!

One of the best Korean food in this area, so tasty and fresh made even the side dishes( ban Chan) are warm and hot which i have never seen from other Korean restaurants. Tried dubu Kimchi and bibim golbangee noodles, both are so yummy; I also enjoyed their tuna kimbap a lot. Can’t wait to try other foods.
Btw their price is quite affordable with considerate portions in such a price boom period.

I am disappointed This place (was) so good. I would brag to my buddies about their “Crack” chicken and how it tasted so delicious. Before the size of the tenders were two fingers wide and about 4 inches long. Sad to say now though, that the size of the portions are smaller(about the size of nuggets) and the chicken is harder. I will not be going back to this location and hope the new location by me opens up soon.

My friend and I came here for lunch after our hair perm. The management is changed to “Laon catering and kitchen”. We shared LA galbi, japchae, and fried rice. It was nicely heated up on a plate, with delicious side dish (kimchi and potato pancakes). The food was flavorful and tasted like homemade. I especially liked galbi, nicely seasoned. Japchae was good quality too. I will be back when I’m visiting Leonia.

My overall experience with this Bonchon in Leonia, NJ was excellent. The total time from placing the order until being handed my take-out order was 12 minutes. My order was for 30 Soy-Garlic wings. I wouldn’t let the sauce name fool you, these wings were crisped perfectly and lightly tossed in Soy-Garlic that has mild sweetness only experienced with Korean recipes. I’ve eaten thousands of chicken wings over my lifetime and I would happily rank their Soy-Garlic within my top 3 best wings of all time. If…the size of the wings were slightly larger, I believe they would be ranked number 1 on my all-time list hands down. I would even go so far to say best in the United States. I do not have experience eating any other food at this restaurant. My 5 star review is based strictly on their chicken wings and customer service.

I have to leave a review because not only is the owner so sweet and welcoming, but the food is outstanding! We tried the egg rolls, bulgogi, kimbap and several side dishes. This is our new go to banchan & kimbap place. High quality ingredients!

Chicken combo wasn’t bad, but pickled radish was soft like a sliced raw potatoes unlike being crispy which was so bad. In case you have such experience, make sure to say it must be crispy before hanging up your phone when you order chicken.
