I’ve driven by Bob Ton Bakery for the last few years, always wondering what it was like — and I finally stopped in. Oh my gosh, I’m so glad I did! What an absolute treat!
Besides their amazing pastries, donuts, and cookies, they have some of the best bread and hard rolls you could ask for. Everything is incredibly fresh — you can tell it’s all made with care.
Today, I decided to try their lunch special, which changes daily. The special was a homemade sloppy joe with potato salad and a pickle. True to its name, the sloppy joe was perfectly “sloppy” and packed with flavor. I also couldn’t resist trying their soup of the day — cream of asparagus — and it was absolutely delicious and fresh.
Now I can see why this bakery has been around for over 100 years! And I have to mention the wonderful women who work there — they’re so kind, friendly, and helpful. They make the whole experience even better.
If you’ve ever driven by and wondered whether you should stop — do it! I highly, highly recommend Bob Ton Bakery. It’s a true Jefferson gem.

Bon Ton Bakery isn’t just a bakery, albeit the donuts and pastries are an experience for your taste buds, there is so much more! Tuesday through Friday they also offer lunch specials. There is always a soup, a sandwich option and a down home cooked comfort food option. There are a couple of small tables for dine in, however I generally opt for carry out. Today I tried the smothered pork medallions with mashed potatoes, vegetable, and a dinner roll. You can choose your portion size and which items you would like, it is priced reasonably by the pound to fit your waistline and budget. I recently ordered ham sandwiches on a bagel which also came with a side of fruit and pickle spear for a group meeting. Highly recommend picking up a meal to go to heat up for dinner later when you are tight on time. Great little gem right in downtown Jefferson.

Years ago my employer would have bon-ton cater and the food was always good. I finally Stopped in myself and I was not disappointed! I left with so many sweet treats I couldn’t wait to taste them. Spoiler alert they were all amazing! The employees were very nice and it was a very pleasant experience. My only complaint is I may have formed an addiction♡♡

The scalloped potatoes reminded me of my grandmas recipe, I almost shed a tear eating them. The homemade rolls were also a staple for my grandmother. It was a true taste of my childhood. Thank you

They made me cupcakes for my wedding (I believe about 130 cupcakes). I showed them a reference picture (I’ll put it below) but the cupcakes didn’t really look like the reference picture. No biggie, it’s difficult to make flowers I know. But the packaging was disappointing, there were no cupcake holders in the boxes so the cupcakes were loose & one box was rough, it was smaller than the rest and covered in tape, so a decent amount got ruined before even arriving to the venue…they stated they were understaffed and I understand that but we paid $240 for cupcakes…just disappointing is all. The cakes DID taste good but overall not the bestest first experience with BonTon..

I’ve searched high and low for excellent hard rolls. Real ones are hard to come by- IYKYK. Bon ton has incredible hard rolls. The very very best – no where else compares (and I’ve checked). Note they are only good same day- but that’s the nature of hard rolls.

Amazing donuts and danishes! You can taste the love that is put into what they make. Hands down, some of the best donuts & Danish I’ve ever had! 10 out of 10 recommend!
