I came here this evening while driving from Lake Whitney back to Fort Worth with my family. I will start with first impressions inside. It was about what I expected; smaller location in a in an older building, the live music was a good touch(will get more into that shortly), simple style.

Back to the live music portion of the night. The singer was good, yet he had the music so loud! My lady and I had to repeat ourselves multiple times just to have a conversation. I asked our waitress if maybe she could ask to have the music turned down. After about 3 more songs, our appetizers came out. I assume it was the assistant manager that brought them to us. I then asked him if it would be possible to have the volume lowered by the performer. When addressing the performer to make a change, the performer guided him to turn the speaker in the direction of another group of customers. This to me made no sense. The issue was not addressed, it was just loud for the other customers.

On to the food. We had boudin balls, and fried green tomatoes. Thery were good, yesterday the portion was minimal compared to the cost. The gumbo for $9.99 was just about 8 ounces, flavor was slightly lacking. Once again a small portion compared to cost. The catfish was good, we had a side of rice(the picture shows fries), yet I got some from my son’s meal to try. Once again the portion of rice was minimal. Our son had the pulled pork por boy with fries. The fries were great! That was the only portion that would be typical, or more then other restaurants you could compare to. The por boy was good, yet again the meat in the bread was lacking. The portion was once again small.

All and all, food was good to ok. The service was attentive at moments, yet was not considerate when it came to our experience. The cost, well it was a bit much in lue of the portions.

I do hope nothing but the best for the business, yet will most likely not be returning for a bit to see if changes may be made for the patrons that come.

My wife and I went on Saturday evening. Catfish and shrimp were good . Shrimp and grits weren’t bad but came out room temperature. Live music was from Jim Campbell of which I enjoyed very much. They did a good job. All in all a good experience. Would recommend.

Find this treasure of place while antique shopping in downtown Cleburne and loved it. The place look nice and well decorated. Definitely try the Boudin Balls. They were so tasty! My husband tried the shrimp basket and he loved the taste and the portion of it. I ordered the blackened fish with creamed corn and loved it. Will definitely come back to try more of their menu. Highly recommend this place.

First time at BonTemps in Cleburne. It was a slow start getting service but that didn’t detract from the experience for me. We enjoyed the deviled eggs, hush puppies, Le Perron burger (not sure on spelling), and the shrimp and grits. All the food was amazing. The atmosphere was inviting and comfortable. Will be returning again.

Honestly this places is horrible the atmosphere isnt inviting, I get it, its really small, needs an update. However the food was soo bland no seasoning at all. The only season is Cajun. Not really anything else to boost the flavors. The service was slow. There was only one waitress. So I guess you can’t get too mad about it. My friend got the shrimp broil that food had no freaking sauce they just threw the very little cajun seasoning for the price of the food. I wouldnt recommend unless you like bland shit then thats up to you. Won’t be back ever!! 🙂

First time coming in to support Chanla (MHS alumni) business. To say it was good would be an understatement, it was GREAT! Some of the best cajun food i have had in YEARS! We ordered the boudin balls for our appetizers and they were absolutely perfect! Crunchy and hot with some of the best sweet sauce I’ve ever eaten. The balls were full of yummy deliciousness that we ate every bite of. I ordered the shrimp and grits and my husband ordered the chicken gumbo. We were blown away with how much flavor everything had. 100% the BEST Now let’s talk our waitress, she just started 2 hours before and was so sweet and professional. She made sure we were completely happy with our food and that our teas were always full. We asked all the questions and she was awesome while still learning herself. 10/10 on service. OK, let’s talk the atmosphere it’s beautiful with huge backdrops that take you to New Orleans, wonderful jazz music playing- all around great! We will be back with friends and family as soon as we can! Thanks guys, yall did GREAT!!

We went here to celebrate my birthday a little early with my family. The service was wonderful and friendly. The food was delicious, I even tried a piece of my toddler’s catfish and I have to say in my 40+ years of life it’s the first time I ever enjoyed catfish. I highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys Cajun cooking.

Decent little place; wait staff was really attentive and polite. I got the gumbo and it was pretty good, lot of flavor. However, for $14.99, I thought it was a joke when they brought out this serving size. It was less than you would get from ordering a bowl of soup at Panera.

Can’t say I would ever go back.

Today we visited Bon Temps Cajun Bistro in Cleburne, Texas, and had a fantastic experience! Since it was our first time, we sampled a variety of dishes, starting with appetizers: the Boudin Balls, Deviled Eggs, and Pork Rinds. Each one had its own distinct, authentic Cajun flavor, with the Boudin Balls standing out as my personal favorite—perfectly seasoned and crispy.

For our entrées, my wife enjoyed the Smothered Pork Chops with Dirty Rice and Cabbage. The pork chops were tender, flavorful, and the cabbage had that down-home taste you expect from authentic Cajun cooking. My daughter had the Chicken Tenders and Fries, and even though it’s a simple dish, they were well-prepared and crispy.

I had the Blackened Catfish with Dirty Rice, and I have to say, it was incredible! The catfish was perfectly cooked, with a nice smoky char on the outside. The Dirty Rice had a satisfying, spicy kick that added depth to the dish.

To top it all off, we had the Bread Pudding for dessert, and it was the perfect ending to the meal—warm, rich, and packed with flavor. It had just the right balance of sweetness and texture, making it a must-try.

Overall, the atmosphere was inviting, the staff was friendly, and the food was top-notch. I highly recommend Bon Temps Cajun Bistro if you’re looking for a true Cajun experience right here in Cleburne!
