very quaint and cozy atmosphere, gets crowded quickly with a waitlist to write your name on outside. we had got there right as they opened for brunch at 12, but told they could not make about half of the items on the menu. wait time for food was overall okay, appetizers and drinks came out quickly but took a bit for us to get our entrées. many tables had received their food far before ours even though we had ordered the exact same dishes as them.

the katsu curry rice and karaage were average. the curry was well balanced, but i do wish they did something more with the sauce for the karaage as it wasn’t really adding anything extra. the mentaiko pasta was good, perfectly cooked and sauce was flavorful. the garnish of perilla/shiso leaves was perfect and added some freshness; i see why this is the most popular menu item. the drinks were also good, their royal milk tea isn’t too sweet although i do think it’s interesting to charge an extra dollar to have it as an iced drink instead of warm. their yuzu lemonade is nice and refreshing.

overall the food is good, to me it’s nothing particularly new or anything that stands out from other japanese restaurants i’ve been to. however if i’m in the area again i would like to try their other menu items given that they’re available.

no wait list, so on a friday night for 3 people at 6:30pm we waited 45 minutes to be seated

the food is french fusion and japanese and it was delicious! The rice bowls have a lottt of rice, which is exactly what they do in japan, but i do wish it had an extra slice or two of fish ><

the mentaiko spaghetti was actually way better than i thought it would be! it’s a little smaller of a serving, but it’s rich in flavor and very filling!

beer, dinner , an desert were all delicious. the staff was very friendly (though they never refilled our waters)

We came about 30 minutes before closing and they were still able to quickly make our meal, which we really appreciated. We ordered the mentaiko pasta and the onigiri lunch special — $41 total. Honestly, everything was really good. The pasta portion was a bit smaller than I expected, but it was super creamy and buttery, and the mentaiko flavor wasn’t overpowering.

The onigiri lunch set came with karaage, miso soup, and edamame. The onigiri didn’t have a ton of filling, but I still enjoyed it. Overall, solid meal and I’d definitely come back.

Only waited a few minutes to get seated around noon on a weekday but the restaurant is pretty busy. There’s some outdoor seating too. The food is really good. I recommend the mentaiko udon. Food comes out pretty fast too. Great lunch vibes.

5 ⭐️ A super solid Japanese Italian place. I really liked the mentaiko spaghetti, the mushroom one is also good. Great karaage as well. Super vibey – gives intimate, cozy date spot with wooden accents. Would recommend!

Visited Bon, Nene based on the buzz surrounding this Japanese spot, but left feeling underwhelmed. We ordered the Takoyaki, Maguro Bowl, and Katsucurry Rice.
The atmosphere is casual with one community table setup in a compact space, which creates somewhat a cozy but cramped feeling. Service was adequate, though food delivery was notably slow.
Unfortunately, I’m not sure what all the hype is about. None of our three dishes felt particularly special in terms of taste, presentation, or value. The takoyaki was quite light – while they use a different sauce than most places, it didn’t elevate the dish enough to make it memorable. The Katsucurry Rice tasted like something you could easily make at home with a Golden Curry box from the grocery store. The Maguro Bowl came with a disappointingly small portion for the price point.
While the food wasn’t bad, nothing stood out as exceptional or worth the wait. I haven’t tried their pasta dish, but based on this experience, I probably won’t be returning anytime soon. There are likely better Japanese options in the area for similar or better value.

My partner told me about this place after seeing buzz about it on TikTok. We both wanted to try it and so we dined in on a Friday night. The restaurant offers outdoor heated seating, but we opted for indoors since we brought our baby. Fortunately, the wait was not too long because it sure turned frigid fast.

As other reviewers mentioned the restaurant is quite cozy. They also have a communal high table. We were seated near the window with a high chair. We ordered the frozen beer, potstickers, chicken karaage, maguro bowl and mentai spaghetti for dinner. For dessert we had the apple tart and the Hokkaido cheesecake.

We loved the cheesecake and the spaghetti. While the other dishes were solid, the spaghetti and the cheesecake were the stars! Looking forward to coming back to try the champignon pasta.

Came here with a few friends and we waited about 10 min to get seated.

Good:
– The food was so good, I loved the mentaiko spaghetti and it was so flavorful and tasty
– The food all came out so quickly and it was way faster than expected too!
– Curry rice portion sizes were good and it was very flavorful
– Nice dim and quiet place to catchup with friends! Great ambiance and good for a long hang

Bad:
– The wait is pretty long – and it’s so busy that I don’t know if i can come back even if I wanted to!
– The special miso ramen was a little bland

Overall the experience was great and I would come back!

The champignon pasta was excellent, however I was underwhelmed by the tuna maguro bowl – felt a bit overpriced for 4 pieces of tuna and a mountain of white rice. They were also out of the gyudon and multiple drinks unfortunately. Good overall but I wasn’t blown away

Service and atmosphere are great, I like the vibe of this small restaurant. The food quality was good as well, especially for the price. My favorite was the Japanese curry. The gyudon what is the most unique flavors, but the tuna bowl was solid as well and had a lot of rice to fill you up.

Overall, great for a casual night out at a very reasonable price.
