Hubby and I had a random Monday off, so we decided we’d go out to lunch to take advantage of weekday lunchtime pricing. Much to his dismay since he hates hot pot, I chose hot pot. Our party of five got there just before 1, and it was pretty empty except for a few tables. AYCE for weekday lunch with meat/seafood is $28.99. They also have some sushi (not very good because it’s packed with rice), and a few cooked items as well. For meat, the waitress suggested the brisket and top blade (which are non-fatty), and it didn’t disappoint. We also ordered fatty beef and lamb, which were good as well. The beef wasn’t overly fatty, and the lamb didn’t have that gamey taste that it can sometimes have. As for all the non-meat/seafood items, they are all self-serve. They’ve got a good selection of veggies, fish balls, and noodles. The sauce station was also good, and had everything you might want. For dessert, they have melona bars. Could have been nice if they had a soft serve machine.
I wouldn’t mind coming back during a dinner service to see if they have any expanded menu items available.

Finally got around to trying this shabu shabu spot! I’ve only been to Shaburo and the one in Little Ferry, and honestly, this place holds its own. The meat quality was good enough, especially for the $36 price point.
A huge perk is that it’s a BYOB spot, and they showed great attention to detail by bringing me an icy-cold beer glass.
What really makes this place unique is the connection to the neighbors—being able to order sushi right to the table is fantastic! Also they have Pelicana chicken, I was hoping to try the Korean spicy chicken, but they only had the classic fried chicken available this time around. For dessert, the ice cream machine looked like it was out of service, but thankfully, they had Melona ice cream bars as a solid backup. Definitely a worthwhile shabu spot!

I had such a great experience at Bomdama Shabu Shabu! First of all, the restaurant was very clean, which made me feel comfortable and trust the quality.
All the vegetables were super fresh, and there were so many options to choose from. The meat was also really fresh and high quality.
I tried both the Vegetable Broth and Sukiyaki, and it was amazing to enjoy two different flavors in one meal.
To finish it off, the stick ice cream at the end was the perfect treat — it really completed the whole meal.
Everything was satisfying from start to finish. Highly recommend!

Amazing Korean buffet-style shabu shabu! The veggie and side selections are extensive with tons of fresh options, and the meat choices are plentiful and high quality. Portions are very generous, the staff is super welcoming, and the prices are extremely reasonable for what you get. Highly recommend this place if you’re craving shabu shabu, it’s very close to the experience of eating it in South Korea. Will definitely be back!

I had such a great experience at Bomdama Shabu Shabu Hotpot in New Jersey! If you’re a hotpot lover or just someone who enjoys trying new flavors, this place is definitely worth visiting.
What really stood out to me was the wide selection of broths, meats, veggies, and add-ons — there’s something for everyone here. I personally tried the Dashi and Spicy Dashi broths, and both were packed with flavor. The dashi had that classic savory depth, while the spicy dashi had just the right kick without being overwhelming. Next time, I’m definitely trying their Mala broth — it sounds amazing!
The meat selection was super fresh, and they offered plenty of cuts to choose from. Veggie lovers will be happy too — they have a great assortment of greens, mushrooms, and other vegetables, plus noodles, seafood, and even unique hotpot toppings. It’s all you can eat, so you can really take your time and try everything.
Another plus? They finish off the meal with ice cream for dessert! It was the perfect sweet ending after a warm and hearty hotpot feast.
Overall, the quality of the ingredients, variety of options, and friendly service made this such a satisfying meal. I’m already looking forward to my next visit — definitely coming back to try that mala broth! Highly recommend if you’re in the area and craving a good hotpot experience.

Highly recommend this shabu place! Shabu shabu was delicious & authentic, and especially the sushi rolls were awesome! There were like a buffet of them, and every roll was seriously delicious (as delicious as local sushi place, plus it’s all you can eat!) There were a lot of sauces, very nice owner and employees, the interior was nice with all white and plant decors! They even gave me a yummy korean icecream bar on the way out for dessert! We were wondering if the owner even makes any profit lol. Highly recommend visiting here I will definitely be visiting here again

This really competes with the other Shabu Shabu spots in the area. It’s got an amazing interior and lots of selection. There’s sushi included in the regular buffet, but you can also do AYCE (only difference is with unlimited meat). The owner is very kind and friendly!

We dined here on a Sunday and the hot food options were limited and sushi was not the freshest so giving 4 stars. However, all hotpot items were great and it was generally a very clean nice place. Servers were great and attentive but the main manager lady was actually pretty rude in her tone (to both us and others including the servers) which was a pretty big turnoff.

Great spot for sushi and hot pot—plus it’s BYOB!”
Bomdama is such a hidden gem in Palisades Park! I came here with a few friends and we were blown away. It’s one of the only places I’ve seen that does both shabu shabu and sushi—and they actually do both really well.
We went with the All You Can Eat option, which includes made-to-order nigiri, tons of fresh meat and seafood for your hot pot, and a big variety of noodles, dumplings, and veggies. Everything tasted super fresh, and the sukiyaki broth was definitely our favorite. They also offer a buffet option if you’re not as hungry, but honestly, the AYCE is totally worth it.
Major bonus: it’s BYOB! We brought our own drinks, took our time, and had such a fun, relaxed night. The staff was friendly, the vibe was casual and welcoming, and the portions were generous.
Highly recommend if you’re looking for something fun, different, and super tasty. We’ll definitely be back!

Extremely rude korean ahjuma waitress. She speaks kindly to other older Korean patrons, but to the younger crowd shes very short and does not provide service. Specifically, I hate the way she treats and speaks to the non-korean staff as well. Ingredients and food are very hit or miss. We went on a saturday and you could tell that the frozen ingredients had freezer burn taste, the sushi was out for god knows how long, and the fried chicken was not fresh. The meat was okay, ambience was clean. But it did not make up for the horrible experience overall.
