Having previously chronicled my adventures at that lively Lubbock public house known as Bomb-Shells, I must now return with my pen to correct a most grievous error in my initial account—an error which, upon reflection, I attribute to the dim light and the distracting clamor of the establishment. I had the pleasure of visiting again, and it was there that I discovered the truth of the matter regarding the bar’s finest ornament.
I refer, of course, to the tapstress, Miss Andy.
I must now set the record straight with the alacrity of a man removing his hat in the presence of a lady. The deft hand that presides over the spirits is not a “barman,” as I so carelessly reported, but a barmaid of exceptional talent and grace. Miss Andy commands her domain with a quiet confidence that rivals any general I have witnessed. Her movements behind that great oak bar are a study in efficiency and elegance; she measures, mixes, and pours with the precision of a clockmaker and the flair of a stage performer.
But it is not merely her skill with the decanter that warrants praise. Miss Andy possesses a wit as sharp as a cavalry saber and a warmth that makes a man forget the infernal West Texas wind howling outside the door. She has the rare ability to make each patron feel as though they are the sole object of her attention, even as she manages the demands of a dozen thirsty souls. Her conversation is lively without being forward, and her counsel on matters of libation is not to be questioned. In short, she is the very heart of the establishment, and I am humbled to correct my previous misapprehension.
The front of the house remains graced by the incomparable Miss Jada, whose welcome is as constant as the North Star. Between her gentle greeting and Miss Andy’s masterful concoctions, a gentleman may find himself quite contentedly moored for the entire evening. I offer my apologies to Miss Andy for my earlier misidentification, and my sincere compliments to both ladies for their contributions to the civilities of this rugged frontier town.
Absolutely love Bombshells. The atmosphere is always on point! Great energy, clean, and laid-back without feeling boring. The real standout though is the staff.
Destiny and Maria are hands-down two of the best bartenders I’ve ever had. Super attentive, friendly, fast, and they genuinely make you feel welcome. Drinks are always made perfectly, and they keep the vibe fun without overdoing it. Also dummy hot
Huge shoutout to Brandon, the manager. He’s incredibly helpful, chill, and clearly runs the place the right way. You can tell he actually cares about both the customers and the staff, which makes a big difference.
Great service, great drinks, and a solid overall experience every time. This spot is doing it right, highly recommend.
I got the Pearl Harbor burger without the pineapple. That burger was really good. The barbecue sauce that comes on it is really good. I would highly recommend it. I’ll look forward to trying different things on the menu.
The service wasn’t the best I’ve had, but it certainly wasn’t the worst. This is only the second day that they’ve been open, so that could have something to do with it.
There’s a part of the restaurant towards the back that kinda has a back porch vibe. Every table has it’s own TV. That’s cool.
The whole vibe in the place as a whole is pretty good. I would definitely recommend people come in to try this place out.
Eventhough, I was promptly seated and ordered a beer and a cup with water to start my review. I didn’t receive my cup of water. The restaurant continued to get busier as the time passed. Although, i was entertained by the amount of tvs and different sports playing. I was getting hungry. Normally, I would leave after 20 minutes, but since I love doing reviews and giving people my honest thoughts and experience, I stayed. The food was good. I had the blackened chicken with mashed potatoes and green beans. The main room is clean as well as the restrooms. Was it worth the wait, no it wasn’t. HOWEVER, THERE’S DEFINITELY ROOM FOR IMPROVEMENT HERE.
Observing for reviews I can tell you the manager has his heart in the right place but he needs to get rid of the extra baggage.
Seleste was along side Mari she made me the best Start burst shot I’ve had in town! She has such a fun personality and made my shot in a good timely manner! She was sure to talk to all of us at the bar making sure we all were so well taken care of!
Keep up the good works girls!
