There isn’t a lot of competition in Columbia in regard to Indian restaurants. As a result, the owners could care less about customer satisfaction. On Father’s Day, we called ahead and asked the owner (the lady) if we could come in for the lunch buffet (as we were cutting it close). She told us that it wouldn’t be an issue and that we were welcome to come. So, the four of us headed down to Bombay Grill. 20 minutes into the buffet, the staff came in and started to pick up everything. They didn’t even let us finish eating. My mother complained to the lady owner and she defended her employees. If closing time was an issue, she could have just told us over the phone and we would have gone elsewhere. The food is pretty decent (again, not much competition), but the service is terrible in my opinion. We used to be loyal customers, but we won’t be going back again.

This is one of the best Indian restaurants in town and is definitely the best value. Other Indian restaurants in town are a little bit pricey. But, this one, is by far the best. Their lunch buffet is always very fresh and delicious. There’s always a good crowd here and it’s understandable why. If I could eat here every day, I would, but I’d be as big as a house. I do wish they served traditional Indian breakfast. I’d stop here on the way to work.

This food is incredible! Something new to try every time we go! Sweet people, clean restrooms, great table service! And the dosas are amazing! Since Touch of India closed (we miss Devi); we didn’t think we would ever find quality Indian food! Hope you will try it and love it like we do!

This is my new favorite. I have eaten Indian food in many different states and this is the best of all. We are lucky to have them. I used to think Punjabi Dhaba was the best until they started using non-indian people to cook the food. The quality has seriously declined over there. I have a feeling that the 1-star review here is a biased review because I have seen many Indian people (including a huge party of ~60 people) enjoying the food. I won’t go on, because this review is meant to highlight how GREAT Bombay Grill is.

My absolute favorite restaurant in Columbia solely based on the food, the Indian music that is always playing isn’t my thing but is par for the course and their chicken curry is so incredible that this place is most definitely deserves 5 stars. I quite honestly have never had such good food, and the portions are more than generous.

This place serves delicious food and the buffet is awesome as well. I’ve never had bad service. They serve many things that I don’t see at other Indian places. Lots of gluten free options.

We’ve gone to this restaurant for years and loved it. Recently, it changed hands. We had heard about this but wanted to keep going since it has always been one of our favorites. What a disappointment! Formerly, all of the entrees were offered with a choice of spicy flavor from one to six. Now many of them are not. You have to take it the way the chef makes it or not at all. The naan was horrible; dry, tasteless, and strangely yellow. Previously, we always got extra naan to take home; this time we left naan on the table. The shrimp vindaloo was awful, served with a syrupy sweet tomato sauce that tasted mostly of sugar and ketchup with no complexity at all, My wife had the lamb curry (spicier than she likes) and was equally unimpressed with the flavor. If this is any indication of how food will be at the Bombay Grill, we have (sadly) made our last appearance there.

Food was decent. But the service was absolutely horrible! It took too long to get our food out. We had to ask the waiter 2-3 times for our check, as well as 3 times to add something to our order. We also had to wait about 15 minutes for a waiter to even approach our table to start. And when we were ready to order, the waiter walked off while my wife was reviewing the menu. Horrid service.

worst service.. I used to go there alot, had several issues. Before sitting in the table, there was cockroach. when i showed it to server, he killed that cockroach in the table. yakk.. after a while, there was another cockroach that came to my plate. when i told it to them, they ignored it, and did not even say anything.. worst thing that can happen in restaurant…will never go there.. if you need hygienic food, totally avoid it…
