This restaurant receives five stars from me, solely based on the quality and taste of the Indian food.
My wife and I had butter chicken and pasanda chicken, with cumin rice and garlic naan. All fantastic, served in large portions, and very reasonably priced.
The location is fine although the restaurant could do with more atmosphere, music, decor etc.
However, the service needs improvement. The waiter was very disinterested and spoke poor English (the primary language on this side of the island). He could not provide a recommendation from the menu, and after taking our order he sat down one table away from us and watched loud videos on his phone until our food was ready. There is no ambient music at this restaurant – and few guests as we were quite early and seated outside – which means his loud videos were very disruptive. Thankfully we were able to just laugh about it. He also never came to check on us and I had to go to the bar to ask for my bill.
The rest of the staff was very friendly – and, again, food was amazing!

The food was subpar. We ordered the vegetable biryani, which didn’t taste anything like biryani. Fortunately, the staff took it back along with the raita (yogurt). The chana masala was edible, but I’ve had much better elsewhere. Overall, I would not come back again.

Quite a few vegan options and they are flexible to make changes whenever possible. Good service and fair prices. I enjoyed the vegan chicken massala and the vegetable samosa.

Ordered delivery (through the SXM2GO app) and was very disappointed. The key problem was the “Chicken Crispy” looked golden and crispy in the app (1st photo), but was red and soggy in reality (2nd photo). Unfortunately my children would not eat what turned up. I raised this with SXM2GO but was told “thanks for the feedback and will try to do better in the future”. No restitution for the misrepresentation, and after spending $100 (for two adults and two kids) we got disappointment and a hungry family. Luckily we had crisps/potato chips (which cost a lot less than $100).

Over the many years we always made this restaurant a regular stop although missed last year when we visited.
It was owned and run by a husband and wife and they would chat with us on many occasions.
Sadly we heard the owner passed away and its under new management.
We found the new owner (who studied under the previous owner) capable, friendly and nice.
The food was also excellent.
We ordered chicken samosas (served with mint sauce)…normally tamarind would also be served.
Very good.
Main course Tadka dal (excellent) and mutton karai (wish there were bones and more pieces of mutton) also good.
Here no rice is served with the main course so one has to order rice.
The lache paratha was excellent and so was the kulfi faluda.
Clean bathrooms. Inside AC outside seating also.
We plan to keep returning as we visit.

Excellent! This is a must try. If this place were in my neighborhood around Atlanta there would always be a wait to get in. Everything we ordered was absolutely delicious.
And, I personally love a more non-touristy atmosphere. The experience was super cool with cars buzzing by, departures occasionally flying overhead, and the beautiful mountainous terrain in the background.

I’ve been here a couple of times, and the food is always good, with nice waiters. NO WAIT, just like a couple of minutes overall 5 OUT OF 5.AMAZING…..But the only thing I can complain about is the atmosphere and the lighting; once they change that, nobody can say a thing about them.

My girlfriend and I ate here and it was by far one of our favorite spots on the island. The service was fast, the food was hot and fresh, and the prices were very reasonable. We will be going back. The menu is also helpful when trying to choose a dish.

I must admit the food was good, but Spices of India is still my #1. The service was slow I waited 1 hour for curry lamb and a serving of Naan so if you’re in a hurry not the place to eat.
